OK...we're going to POR 8/20-8/27. Had to set up 2 dif. ressies because the free food starts 8/21. The problem is we have a 7 day park hopper and it can't be made a 8 day park hopper. My TA ( ) said it's because of the pkg. However... I thought the food pkg was tied to the #of nights you're staying *not* the park hopper. so why can't I do an 8 day? I was too upset about it before because I figured I could do dd, boardwalk etc but now that 'Living Seas' is closing on 8/21 it's upsetting. If we had the 8 day we could do living seas that first day when we arrive before it closes. We've never done living seas and the that is what DD was most looking forward to (loves dolphins). Am I missing something?
TIA

I don't think I would worry too much about this - just upgrade the tickets when you get there. You could even do it after you've used the tickets for a few days - just do it before the 7th day is used. You'll only have to pay the difference between a 7 day and an 8 day ticket.

Best wishes -

Your TA is wrong, you can even get up to 10 days. The package had nothing to do with the # of days on your tickets ( as long as you had a 1 day pass). Get her to call Disney reservations and have them change your # of days on the ticket. Or as prior poster suggested go to Guest Services and upgrade to what ever you want.

My TA clarified something for me...she said I can get the 8 day park hopper, but they may not be able to activate it that first day? I still don't understand why the resort wouldn't be able to activate it. :confused3 I guess I'll deal with that when we get there.
Thanks!

Okay I see her point now. You will basically be checking in on 1 day and then checking out the next day. Then you will check in for your package stay on the following morning. Your ticket is tied to the second reservation not the first. What you can do is purchase a 1 day ticket for your 1st reservation. Or purchase a water park ticket for your 1st day and enjoy the water park.

But...if I buy a separate one day pass, that'll cost about $239 dollars for my family, as oppossed to just changing my 7day to an 8 day for just a few dollars more.

right, it would be significantly cheaper to add a day to your current ticket, but that ticket's start date is not until the day you check in under your package, which is the 21st... so, you can add a or a few days, but it still will not start 'til the 21st... the day you check in for your package!

to buy a ticket for each family member for the 20th, it will be quite costly, but if you tell yourself it's the trade-off for getting the free dining the rest of your stay, you can "almost" justify it (or at least i could! LOL!)

I am assuming that your TA set it up that you have a 1 night Room only reservation and then a package for the rest of your trip in order to use the free dining promotion.

So in effect you will be checking in for 1 night on the 20th (room only no tickets) and then on the 21st you will check in again with your package - your tickets will not be available until you check in for the package.

So it's not that you can't upgrade your tickets - it's that you can't physically obtain your tickets until the 21st.
