I'm really new at this and the Disney dining rep was of no help.
I can make my ADR's on January 30th for our party of 10. We have the DDP.
I have set up my resort reservations on the new website and listed all the people in my party. I decided to do a trial run using a random date in July
to see how dining reservations work.

1. I selected - make dining reservations
2. I entered the date, party size, preferred time
3. Available restaurants and times came up
One question: If I checked 2013 Disney Dining Plan on top list of parameters Mama Melrose/ Fantasmic DID NOT SHOW AVAILABILITY........If I unchecked DDP it was
available.....Any idea why?
4. Same thing with Hoop Dee Doo .........plus Hoop Dee Doo wanted me to select a location and pre-pay $550. Is that the procedure?

5. Is it safer, easier and less stressful to reserve dining via phone?

One question: If I checked 2013 Disney Dining Plan on top list of parameters Mama Melrose/ Fantasmic DID NOT SHOW AVAILABILITY........If I unchecked DDP it was available.....Any idea why? I've had a lot of problems trying to make dining reservations on the new site. The quirks and glitches have been very frustrating. Since you don't need to link your DDP for the Fantasmic! Dining Package, I would just uncheck it. Just make sure you are booking the F!DP and not a regular reservation for MM. You will be asked for credit card info, but that is for the no show guarantee.

4. Same thing with Hoop Dee Doo .........plus Hoop Dee Doo wanted me to select a location and pre-pay $550. Is that the procedure? CRT and the dinner shows (Hoop dee Doo, Luau, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue are the only places where you will need to link your dining plan if you want to use dining credits. Otherwise these are fully pre-paid meals which is why it is asking you to pre-pay $550. Even if you link your DDP again, you will have to give your credit card info for the no show guarantee. If you can't book it with your dining plan on line I would call and do it over the phone. By location do you mean Category 1, 2, or 3 which are the seating areas in the dining hall?

5. Is it safer, easier and less stressful to reserve dining via phone? You can start making reservations online at 6AM Eastern time and on the phone at 7AM Eastern time. I would start online and make as many as possible since you'll have an hour headstart. Then I would call and make the ones that you weren't able to do online. For the ones you make online you'll have the screen with your reservation info and confirmation # on it and you will get an email confirmation within minutes. [/QUOTE]
