Some things from my recent trip..

Hey TBers.
I just wanted to share a couple things from my recent trip to Disney (May 13th-May 20th). There are some positive and some negative points.

PLUS SIDES:


-The weather was AWESOME. Sunshine every single day, always in the high 80's or low 90's. Everyday was amazing at the parks because it wasn't cold or rainy.

-The parks were pretty much empty! I was shocked, because I thought there would be way more people in the parks then there were. The max we waited for a line was around 30 minutes. Back in January, we waited 70 minutes for Space Mountain!

-We went to the Pirate Princess party on May 16th. Oh my God, best time EVER. If you ever get the chance to go to it, I HIGHLY recommend it. The fireworks are much better than Wishes IMO, and the parade was just so special. The lines were pretty much nothing, and the CM were awesome. I had so much fun, I felt like one of the little kids again. Haha.

-We were lucky enough to be in MGM (bleh..."Hollywood Studios". lol) at the time there was a press confrence for the new ride, Toy Story Mania going on. It was pretty neat to see all the press there and the awesome Block Party Bash show they did. The president of WDW was there too. I think she's the president? She's something important lol.

-After waiting 3 days because only special guests and press were allowed to ride, we were finally able to ride on Toy Story Mania. These were special previews due to the fact that the ride opens officially on May 31st, but we were able to get on. (I'll get into more detail about how we got on in the negative section..but anyway). The ride was SOOOOOOOO much fun. I was seriously have an awesome time on it. It wasn't short at all, which made it a lot of fun. And the queue, oh my goodness. That was the best. If anyone wants me to send them pictures of the queue, PM me. That way I don't spoil it for anyone else haha.

-Even though we stayed off-site this time, the resort we stayed at was great. It was the SeaWorld resort with Hilton. It was really nice there. I won't go into that since it's not Disney but whatever. Lol.

And now...*DUN DUN DUN*....For the negative parts.


NEGATIVE SIDES:


-When we went to Blizzard Beach there was a HUGE group of kids from a Youth Group for a church. You'd think they'd be polite and all...NOWAY! They were probably the rudest group of kids I've ever seen. And they were older than me! We were at the gate waiting for the park to open and one of the girls in her little skimpy bathing suit and her group of friends yells, "Open the damn gate!" in front of a 5 year old! They were some "cool" kids, lemme tell ya. I couldn't stand them. They were butting in front of people in line, and the CMs at the park weren't doing anything! My dad yelled at some of them and it still didn't help. We were just frustrated with these kids.

-I officially have an even STRONGER hatred towards smoking. I have no problem with people smoking..Hey, if you want to pollute your lungs with smoke, by all means go ahead. But when you start polluting my air that gets me mad. I always deal with that problem everywhere else, not Disney though because of the designated smoking areas. I guess some people are too good for those smoking areas then? Within 5 minutes of walking in MK, I saw 3 people (in different groups) smoking! Just walking and puffing. Right out in the open...Ugh it frustrates me.

-Now onto the Toy Story Mania ride. Like I said, the ride is in previews. Which means it's going to shut down a couple times due to technical difficulties. So we had to check back roughly 3 times before we actually could ride. The 3rd time we went there was a line of people outside the ride entrance (sp?). We all just sat there waiting. No problem, we just really really wanted to go on this ride. The part that bugged me was the CM outside the gate! They were so rude. Basically they were telling us to leave because there's nothing to wait for? It was the end of the day and that's the ride most people wanted to go on. I understand they want us to go around the park and enjoy it...but that's what we wanted to wait for. Couldn't they be a little optimistic about it opening again or something? I don't know..It just bothered me. Then the next day we went to MGM (HS...), I went up to one of the CM and asked "Excuse me, how long ago did the ride close?" and she replied "Well..It clos-" and then another CM interupted her saying in her mean voice, "There's no set time when it will open! Geez, don't just wait around for it." I replied "That's not the question I asked...But thanks." and then the other CM that was actually being nice came up to me and gave me an answer. I understand it's a new ride, but it doesn't mean they need to be grumpy about it.

I hope I didn't bore you with all of this. I just wanted to share a couple things you know.
Most of my negative points may just be things that bothered me, but yeah.

End of April/First three weeks of May are perfect for travelling.
The two times we've been, we've gone at this time, and have noticed the same thing. Wonderful weather, and the parks are empty.
We always have travelled this time, and probably always will (it's just good for us, it works).

Though, this is usually the time of year that schools/groups come down. There was cheerleading going on when my parents were there, grade nite too. (They were there near the end of April). And the educational tours of WDW. There was always a school near us at the fireworks.
