I've been checking to see if prices would drop on a flight I had booked from Orlando to Islip for my sister in law. It was originally $306 ONE WAY:scared1: but had no choice but to book. Well, I logged in just a short while ago and the price dropped (Thank Goodness)! I did book with points so I just saved 2300 points ($228.). The price is still high for a one way ticket but so much better than the $306. :cool1:

Here's hoping other Disboarder's saves too! Keep Checking!:3dglasses!

That's great! I have a weekend trip booked for October and haven't decided whether I am going or not. I booked it before the SW points devaluation just in case (I booked a ton of tentative flights lol!).

I just checked and I paid 15,628 points for a roundtrip fare (per person) and now the same flights is 29,302 points. Plus points are now worth less.

Always good to check though. I love how SW has no change fees. Usually I check my bookings multiple times up until my trip just in case. With other airlines, I just close my eyes and refuse to check again because if fares drop, it would upset me.

From Flint, Michigan to Orlando....Sadly....they have not dropped....I keep watching....:worried:

Don't give up looking. I started to get discouraged. Been looking since the flights opened.

Have you booked already and waiting for a drop or are you trying to wait for lower fares before booking?

I booked before the new point change went into effect. So does this mean the credit I received is worth less now? Well, either way, it's still better than it was. I originally paid out over 16,000 points for the one way fare. I'll keep checking just in case the fare drops again.

I see you mentioned that you booked several tentative flights. It never occurred to me to do this.

Yes - your credit returned is worth less. But if you saved that much in points it's worth it.

One of my bookings went down by 200 points. I didn't run the numbers but have a feeling it is not going to save me anything and might cost me more to switch because of devaluation.

I had a number of trips in mind so decided to book tentatively when I heard about devaluation. With SW it is so easy to cancel I figured, why not. I already am pretty sure I'm cancelling several bookings but still hanging on in case we change our minds or circumstances change.

I figure the credited points will have some value especially since it was 2300 of them. I can deal with this more than I can deal with a monetary credit as we usually do not fly more than once a year. Ultimately, I lose the credit.

The price on my flight dropped back to what it was before it jumped up, so I booked it!! I'm just waiting for the November schedule to post so I can book our return flight. And still trying to decide if I want to take a cruise out of Port Canaveral or Miami. Makes a difference on my return flight! Thanks for the heads up on the price drop!!!

So glad someone else benefitted! One day maybe we'll book a land/sea. My DD is chicken little and refuses to do the cruise.

Have a wonderful vacation!
