Some suggestions on PPH Concierge

This was our first time using PPH Concierge and I am really glad we used this. In the past we have always driven but now that we have moved out of drivable distance we are sort of trapped here at the mercy of Disney :)

For those of you on food budgets this is how we are maximizing Concierge.

First, I bought a backpack cooler at Target. Easy to carry and holds a ton. Bring a bunch of ziplock bags with you.

At dinner, they have smuckers pb&j out for the kids. Grab enough to take to the park the next day for lunch or snacks. Bottled milk and water are kept in the back. Ask for some for your room and park for the next day. We asked for 4 everytime we were in there. Water at the park is $3!!! They also have bananas in the back and we brought 4 each day with us to the park.

They will also pack you some wine to take to your room. They put it in a coffee cup :) Just ask!

We could absolutely make a meal out of the food offered from 5-7 and we always ate breakfast there. Took the sandwiches for a quick meal in the parks which left us only buying one counter service/sit down meal at the park.

At first I felt weird going in and packing a cooler. They don't care at all. In fact they usually ask what else they can get you from the back. So don't be shy and this is a wonderful way to cut your food bill. :wizard:

We stayed at PPH Concierge last December. The problem we had with the 'hoarding' is that once it's gone, it's gone. We watched a family pile a plate with coconut macaroons (my husband's favorite) and leave. We asked if there were any more, and were told 'no'. Same thing happened the next day with the Uncrustables. So, it's not a bottomless supply.

There can be a fine line between what's technically acceptable and what's uncouth. All of the coconut macaroons? I mean... really!

I agree, if the price is doable, staying concierge is the best way to go.

In addition to seeing some questionable boundaries with food hoarding, we got to "mingle" with some pretty tanked people who were getting their fill of the beer and wine. Last time we were there, my 26 y/o son was pretty aggressively hit on by a sloppy drunk woman about 40 yrs his senior. Another time my 11 y/o daughter was "befriended" by stumbling drunk woman who realized that she and my daughter shared the same first name.... None of it ruined our trip but it sure didn't feel very magical either :upsidedow

Terrible. Maybe some of these people left the room with some free macaroons and a few more free drinks, but they sure didn't leave with their dignity intact!

Wow, really? The disney company doesn't have enough money to replace Uncrustables or cookies. With the price you pay to stay in Concierge they should excpect some of this. We are staying there in July. Hopefully this doesn't happen during our stay. I had high hopes that I would like it. I have three teenage son's which eat a lot as you would guess. So, eating breakfast and a snack in the evening is what we where hoping for.
