Some Shades of Green Questions

Last August we stayed at the BC at a very good rate ($164+tax), thanks to my husband's DoD employment and Shades of Green. We are wanting to stay again, but I can't remember exactly how I managed it last time. We do not want to stay at the Contemporary or the new Shades of Green resort - if by chance it is open in December 2003.

If I make the request of Shades of Green too early, do I risk getting put in a room at the Contemporary or the SoG resort?

Also - in September 2001 we purchased annual passes via SoG as well. I can't find that option listed anywhere on their web site. Does anyone know if SoG annual passes are still available?

Just call Shades of Green and ask for overflow rates at the different resorts; they usually have them available.

I'm not sure about the annual pass discount, hopefully someone else can help with that.

With the expansion, I was wondering if they would even be a need for overflow anymore after they reopen.

Good question Sleepy, the overflow rates may not be as plentiful as they once were in the years past.

I just called SoG the other day about Annual Passes. They are $362. I can't remember the exact amount of the Premium Annual Pass but $485 is very close.

In November we will have stayed 3 times at the CR via SoG. The last I saw on their website, the "new" SoG will be open December 15, 2003. Until then, they are offering overflow rates to the some of the other properties even if the CR NGW isn't full.

Call/email SoG and tell them you want an overflow rate for whatever hotels you are looking into. Keep in mind that although the rules changed while the hotel was closed and overflow was allowed to be booked no matter what, they very well may go back to the original rule of not allowing overflow unless SoG is booked starting mid Dec on (when the hotel is due to reopen).

Ticket information should be on their website. It's in (or was) in excel format. There are 3 pages worth of info, including AP, but you will probably have to click on the little tabs in the bottom left hand corner to view the AP info.

To one of the other posters, overflow will ALWAYS be needed. 600 rooms will go almost as quickly as 287 did. There was a huge need for additional rooms, but the millions of active duty and retired personnel ensure that many additional rooms will always be needed....not to mention it's additional revenue for the hotel. Always a winner <g>.

I agree. SOG is in high demand. Overflow is almost certain.

Thanks AmyA and FirstNo! Just the information I needed! I'll send an email to Shades of Green today. I hope the overflow rates are as good as they were last August. I called CRO and the rate right now is $322 (tax included) for a standard room. We can't afford that - but the $180 something (tax included) we paid last year is in the budget.
