Thats why I love these boards!!! I have friends that just dont understand Why I scrap. and now that it is making me money for some reason I am allowed to now. Do any of you have friends that laugh at your addiction. You know we could all be alcoholics if it wasn't for Scrapbooking!!! ::yes:: :hyper: I love what I do!! And I am good at it too . So why shouldn't we brag a little. There is nothing wrong with that. Don't you think it is more exciting to look at a well put together book than a bunch of vacation photos sitting in a pile HOW BORING!!!!!!! tell me your stories....

I have scrapped for almost 10 years, before it was "hot" and you had to scrounge Michael's and other craft stores for decent supplies. My first "official" album was done in 1995 with a CTMH album- it was my wedding album and I laugh at it now, but you know, it's in a photo safe album and my pictures tell a story. I used those decorative scissors WAY too much (LOL), but it's still neat. Then I did an album of our trip to Hawaii, in early 1997- I remember having to hunt for tropical paper, fish die-cuts, etc. Stamping was really HOT at this time, so I often would go to those stores to try and find supplies. I got pregnant with my first son in 1997 and slowly more and more scrapbook stuff came on the market. I went to my first CM quasi-crop in 1998 and was introduced to those albums and stickers, but I didn't start purchasing the albums til 2002! For a long time I just did 8 1/2 x 11, binder style (Except for that first CTMH album which was post). I have made a scrapbook for our family for every year since 1997, and each son (2) has their own album for their first year (& my pregnancy). I now use only CM albums, was a CMC for about 9 months (I still technically am, but if I don't make a $500 order in April they will deactivate me and I don't plan on ordering), love CM cutting tools, and their stickers are first rate. I have gone from pretty primitive scrapbooking with very little journaling, to, in my opinion, very pretty and pleasing scrapbooking, with lots of journaling! I do not do fibers, just because I like to do my album pages quickly and don't really care for that "look." I like clean, streamlined pages for my albums, with 3-6 pictures per page. The eyelets kind of intrigue me, and perhaps someday I will get into that.

Some of my friends are REALLY into scrapping too, but some are not at all. It makes me sad because the one friend I have in mind takes TONS of photos of her kids, with an A+ camera, and she just stuffs them in a box, not even in any sort of album. I have tried to coax her into scrapping but she said she doesn't have the time, the creativity or the money. :(

I would much rather be a scrap-a-holic or a Disneyholic than an alcoholic too! I'm hoping not to spend more than $10-15 a month for the next few months on scrapping as I have a TON of CM stuff left that I saved from my inventory-I don't need any albums, pages, protectors, adhesive, paper for at least 6 months! Just stickers and maybe an occasional piece of patterned paper for something specific or our swaps here on the boards. :D

Very few of my friends scrap but are very willing to help me find customers for my "scrapping for others" business and of course love to recieve my work for their babyshowers and weddings.

My sister thinks scrapping is a cult! But yet has me do many projects for her.

Now that I think about it I think that is why I love the boards so much I get lonely scrapping. I'm not good at travel cropping and not ready to leave my kids for a weekend crop so at least I can share with the Dis.

I hear you... It is really disappointing when I show my albums to family and they just skim the pages. Not really reading the stories. But my dh and kids love the albums and I love them so, that is who I am making them for.

My sister thinks I am crazy and tells me it is a waste of time. My nephew (16) asked me if we could scrap the pictures his parents had taken. He knew I was creating a book for him of the things we had done together. I said I would love to but scrapping was expensive. My sister immediately jumped in and said she would pay for whatever supplies I needed to create the book for him. So I guess it is a good thing to "be crazy" and "waste time"!

I haven't been scrapping for that long (a little over a year), but most of my friends think I'm crazy. However, the I have slowly converted a few (as they got married I helped them put together albums and they are now hooked!).

The one who has given me the hardest time is now scrapping, too. However, she does not scrap pictures but cards from when she was a child. She cuts around the cards and lays them out on the printed paper and adds diecuts, stickers and other embellishments. It has turned out really nice and SHE invites ME to go cropping! :earseek:

I think the biggest problem is I don't have kids. People are always shocked when they find out that we don't have kids but that I scrapbook.

The whole reason I started this hobby was because of Disney. We had 2 trips planned in 11 months. After the first trip, I thought it would be neat to do a scrapbook to differentiate the 2nd trip. I never thought it would lead to an obsession! :teeth: Of course, it is 2nd to my first love - RACING! ::yes:: Most of my scrapbooks are now filled with cars!

I went to my first CM class with my SIL just after my daughter was born in 2000. I loved the whole experience and remember going home and crying because I was afraid of the expense and time. My husband was so encouraging, he was really great, so I jumped in with both feet and am addicted!

I also look back at my first pages, and am amazed at how far I have come. And I seem to improve with each page I complete. I like simple pages with alot of pictures and color, and love to journal in my own handwriting!

I have also converted a few friends to scrapaholism, my best friend is now kookier than me:p I just tend to get frustrated that I am not getting enough done sometimes.

I am glad to see that there are so many of us out there, disney/scrapbook nuts!

BTW, my first Disney book is almost complete! And I have to say, it was totally a great experience for me!

I am so glad that I am not alone. It just hurts my feeling sometimes. I get excited when my friends make homemade brownies you know (no box). I just wish people other than my dh and kids gave me a Good work. every now and then.

Most of my family is supportive and I've got my two sisters scrapping some. I do have some friends that think I'm totally addicted, but I feel everyone needs a hobby. I just overlook people that think I'm nuts

I took one of my books over to my sisters who I dont see to often. Well she looked threw the book and looked at me and was crying !!! Talk about feeling good. I even started to tear up LOL.

I had no one to scrap with. I did a book in exchange for a quilt with my friend. Every so often she would come over and see how the book was coming along. Then she would come and say "Well can you do it this way or change this" I told her before I finished this book she would be hooked and I was right. We now scrap all the time togeter and she is as crazy as I am about it. My DH is very very support of to my scrapbooking but her DH is not so that makes it hard on her. its to bad because she is very good at it.
