A lady in my education class is from Orlando. She is very wealthy and still owns a house in Orlando. She was telling me about how she and her husband are taking a trip to Orlando during Spring Break to visit their financial planner. I asked if she would be visiting Disney World and she said, "No! We went to Disney World last time we visited so we will probably go to Epcock this time." :rolleyes1 What I typed was not a typo, by the way. I just wanted to sit her down and give her a lecture about proper Disney language. :goodvibes

I just had to share with other people who might enjoy this story.

My 12 year old nephew calls it Epacot.

I've corrected him but since he is a kid I don't go too crazy on him. LOL

My MIL, bless her heart, also calls it EPCOCK. My DH has to correct her all the time. But, she has a habit of misprouncing things. For example, she pronounces "enchiladas" as "enchilitis". :lmao:

I really enjoy it when people say they are going to Disney World to see the castle...like they think Magic Kingdom is referred to as Disney World. I had people ask me at lunch if I preferred DL to DW and I had to explain that DL is like the MK to which they were speechless and had no clue.

My personal fav is when I worked there with WDWCP I had a roomie from rural WI. I'm from MN and have relatives where she lived. She was so embarassed when her brother came (pretty much a hick, in her own words) and when they went past the Dolphin hotel wanted to know "when can we go on that ride?", meaning the Dolphin.

My youngest is 15 and every time I show her something about WDW, she asks if we're going to be able to go there too. I keep telling them, yes there too, and there and there and there...lol It amazes them that there is sooo much to see and do. Their first time, my wife and I won a trip about 11 years ago.

My D5yoD calls Epcot, Ecop.

My favorite goof up is when people call Animal Kingdom, Wild Kingdom.

My extended family can't believe that we've been 5 times and plan on many more trips through the years. "Haven't you seen it all yet??"

My Aunt went 2 years ago and says "we did it all in 4 days". I DON'T THINK SO!!

"While Jim wrestles the aligator, I'll be telling you how Mutual of Omaha can save you money."

My friend is at WDW as we speak. This is her family's second trip so she should know better, but while she is there they plan to ride "magic mountain".
:rolleyes2

On our first trip my DD kept calling it Egg-cotton. No idea where it came from but since she thought the name was Egg-cotton she assumed that Spaceship Earth was supposed to be an Egg. Where as I, being so intelligent, still think it just looks like a big golf ball. :confused3
