Some of my Wizarding World Photos

I don't do trip reports, but I thought I'd share some of my photos. We were there June 20-24th and had a great time (as always) at Universal. I think we are done with Disney for a while, but we can't wait to go back to Universal.

Our first views of the new island.

We headed straight to Forbidden Journey. What an awesome ride. Disney used to be in the forefront with new ride technology, but they haven't done anything this good since Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland. Universal has just jumped ahead of Disney in new ride technology.

First you enter the dungeons.

Past the sewers. Which way to the chamber of secrets?

Past the Mirror of Erised.

And out to Professor Sprout's greenhouses.

The Screaming Mandrakes were thankfully not screaming today.

Then, it's into Hogwarts itself!

Happy to see Gryffindor is winning the house points so far.

Heading towards Dumbledore's office.

There's the pensieve.

Next, we head into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

Dragon skeleton is on the ceiling.

Someone is teaching a lesson on how to repel a dementor. Will we need to know that?

Look closely at these skull specimens.

Harry, Ron, Hermione showed up from under the invisibility cloak. I love how witty they are. They really captured the feeling of the characters from the book here at Universal.

Very nice. Two questions, though;

1) What is with the snowman?

2) I don't recall any lighted exit signs in the books/movies when describing Harry's travels through the halls of Hogwarts.

1)It's spring in Hogsmeade and there's still snow since it's located in Scotland.

He's not in the pumpkin patch.

Looks like he's been harvesting some pumpkins.

He doesn't seem to be home, but I can hear Fang barking inside.

Oh look, there's Buckbeak.

Let's see if we can get closer.

From Hagrid's Hut, I see Hogsemeade in the distance.

The little village is bustling today1

Let's head back into Hogsmeade and see what's happening. Maybe we'll get something to eat or do some shopping.

Anyone need some Quidditch supplies?

Some of the students (and frogs) from Howarts Choir were performing in town.

Anyone thirsty for pumpkin juice, pear cider, or tea?

Which merchandise? Wands are about $27, t-shirts are the typical prices $20-30, journals are about $18, etc.

This year, the TriWizard Tournament is being held at Hogwarts. Of course, since Harry's name was also chosen by the Goblet of Fire, I guess they should call it the QuadWizard Tournament.

Here's a pep rally, featuring Beauxbaton and Durmstrang students.

Let's go see the Dragon Challenge.

Looks like we are just in time. Harry Potter is the last champion to compete and he's already left the champion's tent. The Goblet of Fire is in here too.

We wind our way down to the arena and past the Triwizard Cup.

Reminds me of the Great Hall in Hogwarts.
