My teenage daughter is telling me about a conversation she had at school today with a group of friends. It all started when her and her female friend commented on how they gained weight over Christmas break. They also talked about exercising and stuff like that.
The males in the group told them to stop. They didn't want to hear it. They thought they were hot and they didn't care if they gained weight or not. They don't like girls that are skinny. They want a girl that doesn't look like she'll break.
One girl piped in a question about the body and what they liked. She used herself for example. Pointing out her big behind and small chest. Asking them if it really mattered to them what size what was (I'm paraphrasing here). The boys said "no", it didn't matter, what attracted them most to the body was proportion. As long as whatever wasn't too small or too big for the rest, then she looked good. They mentioned a 3-5 ratio. ???lol
They also mentioned make-up. The boys didn't care much about it, they would rather see a clean face than one overly made up. Or one made up all the time.
They like a girl with confidence, being hard to get, kindness and a sassy attitude.

I thought it was interesting and was glad to hear it.

LOL
Good healthy males sounds like to me!...

It reminds me of the comercial where the men are saying things that women would say....do I look fat in this?...etc...it looks ridiculus when men say it and it should for women too...

I think the girls like to do it just so they can get compliments out of the boys...

Girls are really weird. They all complain that they're too fat, but the people who criticize them the most are other girls, not guys. Girls just don't seem to understand that guys don't care that much!

I think that's fairly typical (the boys' view) , but I think a lot of teenage girls simply don't believe it because it is so counter to the media-influenced ideals a lot of the girls think they need to emulate.
I agree it is interesting and good to hear....let's hope our DD's take it to heart despite the mixed messages they get in society!!
Those boys would like my DD, she meets all those qualifications! ;) :teeth:

My teen son feels the same way. He really hates make-up. He says it looks fake and girls spend WAY too much time worrying about it and brushing their hair. He says they look fine before they fix their face and brush their hair, so why are they doing it again?

He is also amazed that girls all go to the bathroom together. :teeth: He says if he has to go, none of his friends jump up to go with him. LOL! At a recent dance he said they kept hitting the restroom in droves. I guess he wondered if they all had bladder infections.

That's good to hear. I wish there were more boys that felt like that. My DD is not a tiny thing but is proportioned right. My Dd (13) also has no interest in make up. Yeah!!

That is a majority of a guys view. Almost every guy I know feels the exact same way. Wish all of these womens magazines had the input of men because you all have no clue what we want.

You're right, we sure don't. :)

Care to elaborate on that? ;)

What DO men want?

That pretty much sums it up.

I laughed when i read the part "They mentioned a 3-5 ratio. ???lol"

I saw the movie Barbershop with Ice Cube and Cedric the entertainer this weekend and there is a part where they discuss this 3-5 ratio and I think it's pretty funny!!!!!

Explain 3-5 ratio....what is 3 and what is 5?

What exactly DOES 3-5 mean...what if you're a 3-2...maybe a 2-2???

Let me get my calipers...:D

I'm assuming the 3 is the upper part of the body and the 5 is the lower. They are talking size.

I was trying to figure out whether the 3 was chest or waist....I'm assuming 5 is hips.
