I asked this over in the Resorts thread so I apologize for the redundancy but I realize this is probably the place to ask (can't believe I didn't realize this board was here!).

First I am looking for a good cabin loop (I've studied the map but it doesn't help me much since I have never been to the Fort) for my fam. I'd like a loop with privacy (well as much as you can get at a resort ;)) and as much nature as possible. We are bringing our bikes to get around and might rent a golf cart for a couple of days and will have our vehicle so bus transport doesnt matter to us. I'd rather be AWAY from the laundry room so I dont get the urge to wash clothes! :lmao: The 2100 loop looked nice bc it seemed small, looked like it was close to a stream, AND a comfort station was close by so I could send my husband and teenage son out there to free up bathroom space for us girls. Any advice VERYYYY welcome!

Then I have a few questions about the Sing a Along and the nightly movies.

1. Do Chip and Dale make an appearance EVERY night for the Sing a Along or is it only certain nights depending on the week? I want to make sure the kids get to see them!

2. Are the movies shown by the campfire area? Should we bring our own chairs? Is it a grassy area where we could bring blankets to lay down? I'm having trouble telling by pictures.

3. Can we bring a cooler or bag of additional drinks/snacks for the movie?

Also, does anyone know how far, or how long the walk is from about the 2500 loop to the Settlement area or Main Pool? Just curious. Also the distance from the fort to WL on the nature path? My mom decided she only wants to do 4 days of parks (we will be there July 28th-Aug 4th) and will spend the other days relaxing at the resort. Just trying to get a feel for the resort for her--based on google maps it looks like maybe 1.5 miles or so, but it's hard to tell.

Thanks a million to anyone who has the time to respond. MUCH appreciated!!:goodvibes

TIA!!

From allears.net:

The campfire program has no admission fee and is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuck Wagon. You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, sodas, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuck Wagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

Haven't stayed in 2500, but looking at the map, you will want to take a golf cart or bus. The distances you see on the maps are deceiving. FW is a really big place.

Just curious. Also the distance from the fort to WL on the nature path? , I would recommend taking the boat or the bus. It a pretty long walk, especially in the heat you will experience during your stay. You could also consider taking the boat to WL then walking back. Take water with you.

Thanks a million to anyone who has the time to respond. MUCH appreciated!!:goodvibes

TIA!!

They also bring up everyone celebrating a birthday and sing happy birthday to them as a group.

Have Fun!

2. Are the movies shown by the campfire area? Should we bring our own chairs? Is it a grassy area where we could bring blankets to lay down? I'm having trouble telling by pictures.Yes, the movies are at the campfire area. There are bleachers (just like at a sports field, uncomfortable with no backs...). You could bring your own chairs and sit off to the side, ditto for a blanket.

3. Can we bring a cooler or bag of additional drinks/snacks for the movie?Yes, and there is a snack bar as well.

Also, does anyone know how far, or how long the walk is from about the 2500 loop to the Settlement area or Main Pool? Just curious. Also the distance from the fort to WL on the nature path? I'm really bad judge of distance, we we biked and walked the trail to the WL, and at a leisurely pace it was about 15 min walk. So I'd say maybe a mile.

My mom decided she only wants to do 4 days of parks (we will be there July 28th-Aug 4th) and will spend the other days relaxing at the resort. Just trying to get a feel for the resort for her--based on google maps it looks like maybe 1.5 miles or so, but it's hard to tell. I'm sure your mom will find plenty to keep her busy at the campground. My parents routinely spend 2 weeks at the Fort every winter, and only spend about 1/2 their time in the parks. It really is a beautiful place.

We love it at the Fort, I'm sure you will too.

We are checking in on Sat the 23rd, hoping to get loop 2600 , we stayed there in Feb, loved the location, and our mousekeeper was amazing, she went way above her job and made towel animals and would set up the kids stuffed animals for dinner at the kitchen table, she also left small gifts for the kids on our last day. She made the kids stay extra special, our cabin had woods behind it and it was very peaceful. The kids are all going to be suprised they think they are going to Canada for a vacation! ;)
