Some advice please??

My mother and her sisters left for the 3 day Wonder yesterday. I worked in her office yesterday and today. I got a call from a family friend saying that her husband died yesterday morning. We were kind of expecting it but not so soon. This man has done so much for our family from taking my grandfather to and from chemotherapy to just helping around the house when we needed him. My question is, do I email my mom and tell her about it or wait till she gets home, keeping in mind that they are not returning until Monday and it's very possible she'll miss the funeral?

I am so sorry for the loss of your family friend.

That is a tough call. I guess if the situation was reversed I would want to know so that I could make my own decision. I would probably call the family from my vacation to give my condolences and try to find out when the services would be. Would your mom be sure to get your email if you sent it? Is there any way you could call her directly? I think I would rather know over the phone than in an email, but I guess it all depends on the person.

I would e-mail her. She can then decide what she'd like to do. Will she even check her e-mail? I might call Disney and ask them how to get a message to her. Perhaps through them to the ship, etc.
