Some ADR help for a Mom and Dad only trip

Hello all,

This will not be our first WDW trip but it will be our first without DS.

We are trying to plan our ADRs and so far have come up with the following. Any suggestions you could make would certainly be helpful. TIA.

Le Cellier
Boma
Rose and Crown (or Biergarten?)
Coral Reef
Spoodles
Ohana for BK
Boatwrights (staying at POFQ)

We have one spot open and could make changes too. Our plan is to eat breakfast in the room (except for Ohana) since we usually get up and out early.

my husband and I like to go to Crystal Palace for dinner too.....the buffet is excellent.....alot of couples like ourselves go there........we have been there with my brother in law and sister in law on her birthday......
Oh yah we take the grandkids there too when we go with them

I've always liked 1900 Park Fare's buffet as well. Your other choices are fantastic. We love Boma and Le Cellier. Those two are always our favorite meals.

Is the evening meal at 1900 Park Fair a character buffet as well? I Love Mary Poppins so it wouldn't bother me!

What about throwing in 1 or 2 signature dining places?
This is your chance to have romance with out the DS with you hahah

Are you celebrating a special event? Last year we went to the Cinderella Royal Table for our anniversary. It was magical. We were given engraved Champagne flutes as a gift.
Fulton's at Downtown Disney was romantic.
California Grille at the Contemporary is beautiful. You can watch wishes from there. However you have to be seated at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the fireworks or you may not get your seats until after they are over!!!
Taking the boat from MK to the Grand Floridian is nice!
One last note: Boatwrights has been our least favorite meal of all our Disney Dining. It may have been a bad night, but service was bad and food was just OK.
Has anyone tried Tutto Italia?

How about San Angel? I know a lot of folks don't like it, but I think that is becasue they are expecting Americanized Mexican food, and this food isn't very Americanized. I thouroughly enjoyed my meal here.

For pure atmosphere, you can't beat the dark volcano in the distance, and I remember reading that they've removed some of the shops and put in a Margarita bar. Sounds like a fun time to me!

i see two excellent restaurants missing (both non-negotiable for DH & my trip):
chefs de france (for 25th anniv dinner ), tutto italia
you might want to consider wolfgang puck cafe in DTD also (DH loves it, i find it good-very good)

i would pick biergarten over R&C (heck, we would pick anything over R&C )

coral reef is an excellent choice

the remaining are "good" (boma has ranged from amazing over the years, to "good" in recent visits, the resort is romantic , spoodles has pretty much followed the same lines, LC is worth at least one visit)

How exciting, getting to go without children. We're hoping to do that for our 20th anniversary next year, but my youngest will be just shy of 10, so I'm not sure that will work!

Love your choices. I've not been to Rose and Crown, but Biergarten is wonderful. We LOVED Coral Reef and Le Cellier and really liked Boma.

We've not been to Spoodles or Ohana, but both sound great and I'd love to try them.

If it was just DH and I going, I would DEFINITELY want to try Tutto Italia. We went to the last Italian restaurant on our honeymoon, so that would be very special for us.

Oh, and as far as Boatwright's, we went there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our food was VERY good and the service was EXCELLENT. We'd definitely go there again.

Some interesting ideas here. I hadn't really considered Chefs de France but maybe I should.

No "extraordinary" event, just some much needed Mom and Dad time.

Bistro de Paris is right above Chefs de France and it is really good but expensive. It is very quiet and romantic. I think I have only seen one child in the restaurant before and she was a tween. Jiko is one of the best places I have ever eaten and definitely the best in Disney World but it is expensive. California Grill is really good too and has beautiful views but expensive. If I was going without my kids I would eat at these 3 restaurants 2 times each and not go to any other places for dinner. I almost forgot about Citricos. It is a lot like California Grill food wise and has a neat atmosphere so I would go there too.

One last note: Boatwrights has been our least favorite meal of all our Disney Dining. It may have been a bad night, but service was bad and food was just OK.

Have to agree with you on Boatwright's. We ate here the last night of our trip this past September and it was by far the worse meal we ever had--the service was terrible, the steaks were fatty and undercooked and my DH said the potatos were the worse thing he had ever tasted in his life). We are going to give them a shot for breakfast as we hear the breakfast is really good, but we will not be going back for dinner.

I'm taking a similar trip. One night we are going to Raglan Road followed by an evening at Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse. Another night was going to be California Grill, but we decided to dress down and go to Kona instead so we can hit the park comfortably afterwards.

We ended up picking Marrakesh as well, more for the atmosphere than the food, but so it goes.
