Solos or couples - do you keep getting rooms in the same area at certain resorts?

I been wondering this for awhile ...... :scratchin

I go often to Disney (usually three times a year), and most often I stay at a moderate or POP. I clearly see I seem to keep getting the same areas of the resorts every time I stay there. Anyone else see patterns like this? Maybe the Disney computers place those without kids (solos/couples/adults) in certain areas? Perhaps I am just paranoid, but just wondering!

Here is what I keep getting (usually standard rooms):

POP - twice got 50s
POR - always got a mansion, twice in Parterre Place
CBR - got Trinidad South
POFQ - twice got Building 4
CSR - twice got Casitas - was suppose to be in the Casitas on my third trip but begged for Ranchos and finally got it

Anyone else keep getting the same thing over and over and over? Just wondering if there is a Disney conspiracy against me!! :scared: :teeth:

Pop - got 50's 4 times - but since I love it this is fine with me
CBR - different places both times
POR - got MT - but that is what I asked for
Con - all over
Polyn - All over - but generally Tahiti - but again that is what I asked for
WL - all over
BC - all over
BWV - all over
OKW - all over
SSR - all over
VWL - all over

the other places I have only stayed at one time .

I just booked a night in Pop for December and the CM asked if I wanted a room in the same area as when we were there in January. I said sure. So the information is there.

Bobbi :)

We go quite a bit and try to stay at different places however we have our favorites, POR and FW Cabins and stay there a couple times a year. We are generally in the same area. We always end up in the same loop at the Cabins and at POR we always have the same general area. I kind of like it though. At first I thought it was just luck or coincidence but now that it has happened a few times at 2 different places I think it is definitly something they try to do. I guess they figure you liked it so much that you decided to stay there again and you want to be back in the same place you were before. I think it is great. :thumbsup2

At POR, in 6 solo trips, I always got the Mansions, even though twice I requested AB. And at OKW, as big as the resort is, DH and I got Southpoint area for the first several times. Finally on this last trip, we got a different area. Nothing against Southpoint, but it's such a big resort, we really wanted to see something different.

Before I joined DVC I stayed at every venue on property and 90% of the time I got a building I wanted to stay in. My requests were always based on previous experieces at the resort. The only times I wouldn't get my preference was during the holidays occasionally.

My solo trip Feb 4-11th at POR I got AB building 18......
Found out later in the week though there must have been a cancellation
as someone elses Magical express info was on my door...
Guess it paid off to check in at 4 am... lol :cool1:

That makes sense - they keep so much information on you as it is, that they'd keep this info too.

I've stayed at POR 3 times now, and the first time we (my sister and I) requested Magnolia Terrace, and now the two times I've gone by myself and stayed there, same building.

Thanks for all the replies! SimbasMom - you make me feel better at POR, as I only had three trips in the mansions, not 6! I couldn't ever plead or beg my way to AB. But I probably won't stay at POR again anytime soon because of never seeing a new area. :(

I never thought of the computer intentionally assigning a section because you stayed there before. But it's more than that - I can beg at check-in for a certain section, and usually it doesn't matter - I keep getting the same places over and over! Next time at a moderate, I will probably pay for water/perferred just to avoid the boonie rooms! :teeth:

But the good news is, on my next two trips, I am staying at new resorts! I will be at All-Star Music, and then the Swan! I think the Swan probably has no real boonies, so I should be OK there! At All-Star Music, it appears that the back ends of Country Fair are the worst rooms, so that's where I expect to be! :teeth: :teeth:
