Solo women, taxi in Cozumel

Would you take a taxi if you were a single person in Cozumel. Want to do a Resort for a Day. I will be 65 at time of travel. So it is not like I am a 20 something great looking chick! Thoughts, please.

I feel safe in Cozumel. I would get a taxi alone.

I've done taxis in Cozumel--just me and a friend on a girls only trip. Felt perfectly safe and wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

I would think it would be safe, but perhaps you could think about trying to search out other people to ride with? Perhaps through a cruise meets page here or on a social media group? Most all outings we have taken cabs for, we have come across other people from the ship going to and from the same location. That way, not only would you have an extra layer of safety, but it could save you some money by sharing the cost. Just an option to think about!

PS... I would highly recommend Nachi Cocum for a wonderful day in Cozumel!

I agree with minniebeth. I think I would try to seek out a family to share a ride with. Robberies do happen, and it is not something I would be comfortable with. I felt safer in Columbia than I did in Cozumel. I felt safe-ish in Cozumel. I noticed a lot of middle aged men just lingering on the sidewalks watching the people go by. Was I scared? No. But it did make me hyper sensitive to my surroundings.

We pop down to Cozumel several times a year. No problems here and I would feel safe. My hubby scuba dives and I even pop into town alone (gasp) and go to the Mega. It's NOTHING like the mainland Mexico (Cancun, Playa, etc.)...now there - I don't feel safe.
