Well my friends I believe the time has come for me to say “See Ya Later Alligators”! (You didn’t think I was going to go all sentimental on ya now did ya?) That’s right at this time tomorrow morning Nobby and I will be somewhere on I-10 driving past Tallahassee listening to a Disney Podcast or the soundtrack from the Lion King having very happy Disney thoughts all the while enjoying the real Dr. Pepper (which has been taunting me from the trunk of my car). Yes, as one of my goals for the new year (I don’t use the word resolution…because I have never kept one of those ever in my life) I gave up real Dr. Pepper for water. I’ve been doing a real good job of it too, but now on this trip I get to have a real oh so delicious sip of the DP!! Now, I’m not going to go getting myself all addicted to caffeine again (those headaches are killer), however on this trip I’m going to enjoy one caffeinated beverage a day. Oh boy…there I go rambling again…focus Jen, focus!! LL asked me the other day if I was still functioning or if the excitement had taken over yet, bah my response…I don’t think I’ve ever functioned properly to begin with so who really knows the answer!! Oh wait…trip, get back to the trip and my final thoughts.
I must say that has a scrapbooker, I am sorely disappointed in myself, why you ask? Well, this PTR distinctly lacked photo volume. My promise to you all my TR will not suffer from this same affliction (I just realized I used a lot of big words in the last two sentences and at 6am in the morning…go me!!). I have even dabbled in the idea of doing a food porn report, but I’m not sure I would give the food the justice it truly deserves, so I might just had some food pictures on my regular TR, you know mix things up a bit!! Either way the good news is my TR has a title and will be ready to start as soon as I come home, sometime next week. I won’t give you a date, because seriously the girl who buys the belated birthday cards early giving you a date is like setting herself up for failure, but you won’t have to wait long.
So, is Jen packed? Oh yes, Jen has been packed since Saturday…shall we see how that conversation went with Prince Phillip (you guys know you have missed these LOL)
Me: There I’m done!! Yay for me (yes I use the word YAY in real life…I’m a dork)
Princy: Done what…packing?
Me: Yup yup…all set! (I pat the biggest suitcase we own)
At this time Prince Phillip gets a look on his face, now while I have been married to this man going on six years sometimes I’m just not sure where he’s going with the looks. At this time I could only guess 1) He’s going to comment on the amount of luggage I’m taking or 2) the fact that it’s nice to see the bed in the guest room again after 3 months of it collecting stuff for this trip! WRONG!!
Princy: You mean to tell me, you are completely packed for this trip 5 days in advance and you’re not going to have to worry about clothes at all to wear to work, church, or for any other reason?
Uh-oh…ummm…how do you answer a question like that??? I could see no-good was coming from this at all!!
Me: Umm...yes (at this point I realize my good looks and extremely cute pathetic face might be my only way out of this).
Princy: I can’t even go 4 days without you having to do laundry, you have way too much clothes and knowing you you’ll be bringing back more (well at least he has me figured out LOL)…If I get bored I’m cleaning out your closets while you’re gone (with a wink and sly smile he was then gone).
I just had to laugh, cuz he’s right I have way too much clothes and I really should clean out my closets myself, maybe during spring break!!! Will he get bored while I’m gone, umm not if the million hours of CSI I have recording on the DVR have anything to say about it LOL!!!
OK, on to another packing issue!! Well I have been talked into bringing the swimsuit!! What are the odds of said swimsuit being used…hmm…let me thing…0%! Have you seen Orlando’s forecast recently, well if not (although we’re DISer’s right, don’t we have Orlando set as our home weather forecast, or is that just me LOL) let me tell you 40 degree lows and not like the high 40s we’re talking 44 that feels like 38. It was 61 degrees (at this point anyone of you who live above the Mason-Dixon line, please don’t try to harm me, I’m a weather pansy and I’m frail) and I wore my black jacket all day because I was cold…in the morning it was 38 degrees I was freezing. I actually had to scrape my car Monday morning, I did not move to Florida to have to scrap the frost off my car. And you think I’m going to be using a swimsuit, I’ve already had to talk myself out of repacking and taking all short sleeve t-shirts out of my suitcase LOL! So will the swimsuit be used…nope!
Well the Great Haunted Mansion t-shirt Making Adventure of 2009 is complete. What does it look like you ask?? Well, remember my first paragraph (or have I already lost ya) well shirt got washed and dried and ironed and then packed. Did a photo get taken like a good DISer would have done…ummm I plead the 5th, actually I plead insanity it’s the excitement from the trip the fact I don’t function well, either way a photo was not taken and I apologize but it looked really good and I will be wearing it at some point so that means a picture will definitely be taken of it then!! Will that save me for now??? BTW next set of t-shirts for next trip (yes there will be a next trip) I’m sending them to LL and Paula and having them make them for me and then pay them for their hard work this making t-shirts is stressful on my poor soul LOL!
Apparently I have a lot of final thoughts!! Transportation….check! Rental car will be picked up tonight and I will load it up completely before bed. That way when my alarm goes off in the morning I can just jump up make myself reasonable and get on my way!! I want to be Orlando as soon as possible so I can enjoy a good half day there!! The GPS has all of its addresses plugged into it! I really hope Orlando and Lake Buena Vista are interchangeable…because went I went to enter Century Drive for Lake Buena Vista they couldn’t find it…oh well I think I have the way to Downtown Disney all set up correctly so I can find Pop Century from there…I hope LOL!!!
So what all am I taking…be prepared to be very scared! All I have to say for myself is that I’m really glad I have a fear of flying because I would never make their luggage requirements!
• 1 big suitcase of clothes
• 1 duffle bag of toiletries and meds
• Laptop bag
• Food and drink
• Backpack (already packed for day 1)
• 1 Very Big Disney Binder
• Nobby (I so cannot forget that gnome) and his accessories
• Stanley the GPS
That’s it!!! That’s not a lot right!!! Who am I kidding I way over packed, I over pack by nature. This is why I love taking the rental car…I don’t have to take all of this into the hotel I can lock a lot of it in the trunk so I don’t have to have a cluttered hotel room.
My last thought is more of a teaser for you all…the one thing we all get a little sad about is the return home. Well I am avoiding that this year, I’m not going to be sad because I know exactly when I’m returning and all I will have to say to Disney is See you Soon!!! When will I be going… well for that you’ll have to wait for Chapter 1!! However, I know I will have to start planning that trip as soon as I get home, so I will definitely have something to look forward to LOL!!
Well I think that might be it ladies!!! I think I’m all thought out!! Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to Disney, you have made the months fly by and I have had a great time getting to know all of you!!! I will check in to let you know I made it safely!! Then I will see you all again…at a special place I call my trip report!! Until then in the words of Julie Andrews…let’s start at the beginning a very good place to start…See ya later Alligators!!!
