So I am looking to do a solo trip in the spring. But I am not comfortable sitting at a table alone. Not even at chick fil a when I put my kids in day care to get things done. I can do it but not my favorite thing. I tend to do better at a bar in the airport style. I like striking up conversations that way and all. So what are the places you might like to go that has that bar style. Not for every meal but 1 or two options as it is only a weekend trip.

Mitzner’s Lounge, GF
Geyser Point, WR
FF, Boardwalk
Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grille, DS
Top deck @ Paddlefish, DS
Boathouse, DS

Are all possibilities.

Pretty much all the signature restaurants have lounges either inside them or very near by. In addition to the ones @NYCgrrl mentioned above also consider:
The Wave (Contemporary)
Victoria Falls (AKL)
Narcoossee (GF)
Crew's Cup Lounge (YC)

I like
Nomad Lounge
Brown Derby Lounge (I don’t think they have an actual bar.)

Have heard good things about
Homecomin’
Boathouse

So many great options. Flying Fish and Bluezoo are probably my two favorites. Crews Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club is nice as is Ale & Compass. Almost anywhere at Disney Springs has a bar: Boathouse, Homecomin’, Raglan Road, Wine Bar George are my favorites. Jiko has a counter called The Cooking Place that is fun to sit at as you can watch the chefs making some items. Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom is fun.

We enjoyed The Wave Lounge, Trader Sam’s (we sat at a shared “bar” in the center with another couple and a large group), the Baseline Taphouse in HS, and the Brown Derby Lounge.

I know it’s hard to learn to sit alone, but I forced myself over the years, and now I have no problem eating anywhere alone. At first I sat at the bar but eventually I moved on to tables. I always have my phone (and kindle app) so I can text or read, and I try to sit somewhere tucked off to the side where I can look outside or people watch.

Not what you asked :), but Biergarten and Teppenyaki seat you at communal tables with other parties.

It's been years so I'm not sure about the current status - but I used to like the Jiko option not at a table.

Nice one at House of Blues and we had full menu there.

I went by myself for a meeting last year and went to the indoor lounge at Wilderness Lodge. It's right off the lobby. I loved it! Had great food and a very nice atmosphere. Didn't mind being there by myself at all. I believe I got poutine or fondue.

Dining solo, I really enjoyed California Grill, either the bar or lounge area, Flying Fish ( was able to get seated by the chefs), and Nomad lounge.
i also didn't mind sitting at a table solo, and did that as well.
the lounge at Sanaa is nice.

During my December trip I ate at the bar at Flying Fish twice, and had excellent food and service. I had intended to try the Lounge at Brown Derby as well, but they were able to seat me in the restaurant so I did that instead.
