Hello all!

Just returned from a wonderful 4 days at DLRP, where I finally caved and got myself an Annual Passport. I'm thinking of spending Christmas at DLRP this year, but I'd be going over on my own, so I was wondering if anyone else has ever done DLP on their own at Christmastime before? I'm thinking of the Sequoia Lodge, as I hear it's really lovely in the winter. Just trying to make up my mind whether or not to go now!

For the record, I don't have any family round here and all my friends will be busy with their own families, so I'm at rather a loose end, and I thought why not have a Disney Christmas? :)

Any advice/thoughts? I've not been to Disney solo before.

Thanks!

Madeleine

While I love being around family at Christmas time I definitely would not want to stay at home on my own. What better way to spend Christmas, than with your other family Disney  Sequoia Lodge is very warming at that particular time of year. I'd go in a second. Good luck deciding :goodvibes

I agree with Reid, go for it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I am sure you will have a fabulous time :goodvibes
We went for Christmas last year and it was sooooo magical :wizard: :wizard:

I agree! Instead of being lonely at home, you will always be better at DLP, surrounded by the magic :wizard:
It might be a little bit crowded, so book quickly!
Sequoia Lodge is great for the winter, with that big fireplace, Christmas decorations... :thumbsup2

I wish you will have a merry xmas at DLP :goodvibes !!

I haven't done Christmas solo at the Parks but I have been on my own on two previous occasions. The only issue I've had in the past is feeling a little awkward going into some of the 'grander' restaurants on my lonesome. But that's little different from dining anywhere else on your own. Solo eaters always do look a bit like 'Billy No Mates' However I wouldn't let that put you off - go for it. Sequoia is a nice hotel and everyone is friendly enough. I usually find someone to bore with my DLP chat when I'm there.

I've been on lots of holidays on my own as I used to be a travel agent and I couldn't resist the special agent offers :rotfl2:

I have to agree that the meal times are the hardest bit, however, with a place like DLRP you are among like minded people who are on a high and are probably more socialbe than normal as you all have the same things to talk about - DISNEY! :cheer2:

If I had to spend Chirstmas without my family - I think DLRP would be a brillient idea. I hope you have a really fantastic time.

I was thinking the same think. I want to do Disney Solo at Christmas but not sure if that is a good thing or not. It maybe assured that all travlers will be with family. Any information you can share would be good. :confused3

Hi Madzilla - I hav'nt been to DLP solo but I did go to WDW alone in 1990 and it was great. If you decide to go at Xmas, my family (DH,DD and myself ) are staying at SL, so would be happy to have a drink in the bar one evening!

I went to DLP solo again last year in early December and stayed at Sequoia Lodge. Sequoia lodge looks great with the Christmas decorations, and and is so nice to return too as it is really warm and cosy after being out in the cold. Disneyland Paris is wonderful during Christmas season, especially, like the year before if it does really snow.

I have been with family and solo during Christmas season, and both experiences are really good.
