For the first time ever, I was entertaining the thought of a spur of the moment long weekend to Disney 2/28-3/4 without kids and was looking for a standard value or moderate room on property, but there are NONE. I haven't stayed on property in a while because we're usually traveling with a lot more people, so we stay at Bonnet Creek. Is this typical for them to have no availability? I know...it's last minute. Any suggestions? Could do Bonnet Creek, but was looking to cut out rental car, etc.

It's a heavy vacation time, the last week in feb is winter break in some parts, then mardi gras is march 5 so some places are on break that week.

I'm not terribly surprised. That's really right around the corner and it's a short stay so the resort algorithm may be giving you even more limited availability than if you plugged in a longer stay. I just planned a last minute trip for President's Day weekend and ended up booking 3 nights at the Dolphin for a fantastic rate (less than any mod that was available). I had to book transportation to/from the airport, but otherwise, we can utilize WDW transportation once we are onsite. Have you considered Swan/Dolphin? Also, just keep checking. Availability changes constantly.

Have you checked third party sites like Priceline? I've had luck getting rooms that way last minute, sometimes for cheaper than through Disney.

I checked other sites and so far didn't see anything, but I did check in with our trusty Bonnet Creek and got a quote of $401 for a two bedroom, so may just have to do that!
