Software for limiting kid's computer time?

I need some software that will limit my child's time on the computer. It's not just the internet, it's also her paint programs - she spends a lot of time using Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop Elements to create art. Unfortunately, she's spending too much time at it and it's interfering with life.

Anyone use any type of software like this??

What a super idea. I've got one who sits on here for hours on end & when asked to shut down or hand over to someone else.........the performance he puts on is HUGE!


I never thought of there being software to limit time. I have used a kitchen timer, but that wasn't terribly effective

Funny, I was thinking about asking something similar the other day. I just want one that will shut down automatically after a given amt of time... to help keep ME off! There must be something, because the computers at the library go off after an hour. Hmmm.

I have four daughters who like to go on the pc everynight. I work nights, so it is up to DW to time the girls.

She has a simple method, starting with the youngest, as she get sleepy first!, they start at 6pm, they are allowed 1/2 hour each, so that takes them until 8pm. Homework is encorporated into their timetable, if they need to use the pc for it.

Simple rule; if they do not stop when their 1/2 hour is up, they miss a turn the night after, our girls ages are: 9, 10, 11, and 12 years.

The only other software that might help is to pull the plug, and give them a weeks ban. It works with my girls.

Why not password protect the system and only allow them to play when you log on?
