I have to admit I am a Disneyholic, so Disney is my primary goal during SoCal visits. Universal Studios Hollywood is fun and has a spectacular view of the surronding area. It can be a little nerveracking to take a 1/4 mile of escalators up and down the mountain.
Knotts is fun for a quicky. If you get there early, you can do the major roller coasters and be done and in line for the fried chicken restaurant by noon.
Magic Mountain has some great roller coasters as well. BUT, do not expect the tram to pick you up and do not expect the cleanliness of Disney to be found at M.M. Roller Coasters- A+ Everything else D+.
I have not done Legoland, but I really want to. At 49 I still love Legos.
