Soarin' Compared to Hangliding or Parasailing

I was wondering if anyone who has been on Soarin' would take a moment to compare it to a real hangliding or parasailing experience. I know it's "different", but tell me what is the same.

The real experiences don't feel as stable as Soarin'. Soarin' actually makes you feel more secure with less restraints. Soarin' does recreate the gentle back-and-forth rock you can feel when gliding or parasailing.

I have never been hang gliding but after Soarin I feel like I have been. Very realistic with the scenery. It's a lot safer too!!!

I have been on Soaring several times and my main advice would be to sit in the 1st row for the best experience. This row lifts up the highest and gives you a great view. The other rows are good too, but I felt the experience was not as good because you can see the feet of the people in the row in front of you dangling and it distracts your view. Just my opinion.

I'd second the first row comment... best seat in the house for this ride. And, if someone forgets to take off their flip-flops you won't have to worry about getting beaned in the head by em.

DH says it feels a lot like flying an ultralight aircraft (he's flown them for years).

Our personal preference is row 2, even with the feet. Otherwise we were able to see the edges of the screen (in row 1 & 3).

Do you get to choose which row you want to be in?

No, so if you have a preference, you'll have to get yourself into the line at just the right time (let people go ahead of you, etc)....or just ask/beg the CM very nicely. They may think you're odd, but hey, it's Disney. You're allowed to be a bit odd.

If it isn't real busy they will probably let you wait to get the row you want. Really all of the rows are a great experience.
