Different blogs I read, it's worded differently. Anyone know if the closing starts the 4th? That was supposed to be our first day at Epcot and I'm thinking I need to rearrange our schedule. Blah! Lol That is my favorite ride at Epcot!!!

The first date offered in a closure listing will be the first date that the ride is closed.
The last date offered in a closure listing will be the last date that the ride is closed.

The first date of Soarin' refurb is listed as Jan. 4, 2016.
No actual re-opening date has been announced.

Okay, thank you! That is how I thought it was, but I didn't want to rearrange two entire days unless I absolutely had to! LOL So now to try to switch a MK day (with Pirate's League and other ressies) for an Epcot day (with ressies there, too, lol). I'm so glad I planned this trip a million years in advance to now switch it 2.5 months before we go. Ha!!!!!

A bit bummed on this announcement to say the least. We are due there in later January and I was hoping to get on it before they closed it down. Ah well, that is okay. We have been on it once before, and I guess we will go again in the future.

I do wonder how it will affect the other rides in Future World. I can't help but think that the many people who flock to Soarin' will now be in other lines. I guess we will aim for a FP to TT now instead of Soarin'. Of course, so will most other people. I am expecting that to be a harder ticket to get. Hopefully I will at least be ahead of the people who don't read the Disboards! :)

Robo, since you seem to know Disney very well.......what's your thoughts on this: We are going to be in Orlando for New Year's but don't check into our room with the package until the 2nd. I planned the 2nd and 3rd for MK days and have so much planned each day, it would be hard (and time-consuming) to try to switch all that around. The 3rd is my daughter's 10th birthday and we have BOG and BBB reservations, which I don't want to try to switch at this point.

So, our first day at Epcot was going to be the 4th. Our choice could be to get our tickets early and go January 1 to Epcot. But would the crowd levels on the 1st versus the 4th be worth getting to do Soarin'??? My son has been to Disney 2 times, but this is his first time to be 40 inches, so we were all finally going to get to ride together! LOL Will the crowds be THAT different the 1st and 4th? Seems like the blogs I read says they will. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do!!! LOL Any insight?

Is that your only insight???? LOL

I could wax poetic for a few pages, but the summary is that Jan. 4 (a Monday) will see a far fewer guests in the parks than Jan. 1 (a holiday weekend Friday.)

Thanks for the advice, Robo. I may have made a mistake, but I was able to switch all our reservations around, so instead of MK on Jan. 2, we are going to Epcot.....and then instead of Epcot on Jan. 4, we are going to MK. Not sure what the crowd levels will be like the 2nd versus the 4th at either park, but when I told my daughter we could probably ride Soarin' if we switched those two days, she really wanted to so she can, hopefully, ride Soarin' with her brother and grandmother for the first time! :-) Thanks for the help!!!!
