are just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lame!!!

I'm off today and have the TV on just for some company and it happens to be on one of the soap operas. I know I can change the channel but it's like a train wreck and you have to look.

OLTL is actually better than AMC these days. Some of the storylines on AMC leave us soap veterans shaking our heads.

Yes, they can be very lame, but sometimes that just turns them into a comedy and they are still entertaining, in a different way.

I will say, though, that the whole "Ice Princess" storyline on General Hospital in the 80's (?) was so lame that I stopped watching it for good. AMC is coming close right now, but they haven't lost me yet.

AMC lost me, lol and I am THISCLOSE to dumping GH. I adore OLTL though. lol

If you can accept their 'reality' and allow the mindlessness they can be quite entertaining!

After years of holding on I just dumped Days of our Lives. I couldn't watch it anyhow; I was just reading the soap opera digest summaries every week. Last year it was on during my planning period and I could watch some of it. But now I have gone 3 full weeks without buying SOD (do I get a chip or something?) and I think I've broken the spell.
What kills me are the people that live and breathe for these things--send things to the magazine in favor of their couple ("Lumi" is Lucas and Sami, for example) and do letter writing campaigns to keep supercouples together...it's FICTION, people!

I used to watch a lot of soaps in college. They were a really good reason to skip class.

Who remembers Nikos Cassadine and his Evil Weather Machine from GH in the 80's?!!!
