We're moving out of state. We're only taking what will fit in the 2 cars (not counting clothes and light misc stuff which I am boxing up and mailing), what would you take with you??

My parents own the place we're in now, so leaving stuff behind isn't as HUGE issue. My husband said he can get 7 totes in his car. My car will have 3 cats, 3 computers and a printer.

He keeps asking what should go in the totes and other the computer CD's I am clueless. Sooo give me some ideas of what you would pack.

We are moving out of state this weekend in fact and the only things we are not taking are the two leather couches because my parents bought us a brand new set, the end table, dining table, and two chairs(giving all these to those in need and replacing with new stuff.)

If I were moving out of state, I'd probably take almost everything. We've discussed this, and decided can't really afford to buy all new appliances, furniture, linens, etc. We'd probaby leave our washer/dryer because we need new. But, other than that, we'd take it all.

See it will cost us over $10,000 to move our furniture out of Alaska... I can buy some nice stuff when we move south for that price. Hense anything that will fit in the car....

The last time I moved out of state, I took only what I could fit in my car (Honda Accord):

Boombox, 13" TV, VCR, Computer, 2 suitcase of clothes, 3 pillows, 1 comforter, 2 towels, 1 set of dishes (the ones in a box for 4 people), some photos, microwave oven (small 700 watt one), cordless phone+answering machine, some knick-knacks, bath mat and shower curtain (they were Mickey), toiletries.

That was it. Everything else I bought when I got there.

Have fun and good luck!:)

A phone, some toilet paper, and a coffee maker... ok add some more toilet paper.

Any knick knack or item of sentimental value. Photos. Your pets.

Enjoy your trip. Safe travels.

Well, I've moved home on a bus before. I wouldn't want to do it again, though.:D

I would bring sentimental stuff, that others have given me. Some of the essentials like pots and pans, and bedding, and some plants if you can squeeze them in.

Good luck!
