What do you do when you get there? I printed out my confirmation page. Do we just flash the magic band? Just curious for anyone who has already used theirs.

We scanned our MagicBand at the register and everything was good to go. Our pre-order info was verified and we were given the "Rose" to take with us so our server could find us! Very quick and efficient!

This is my experience from doing it in December:

There is a check-in area left of the bridge before you cross over to the restaurant. You need to go to it first to check in. A CM will then radio ahead that you are coming and after you enter the facility another CM will meet you. Unfortunately, my meal selection wasn't found and I had to re-order by standing in line at that point. Still was an incredible time saver.

We had this exact same experience in October. So much for all the worrying about what to order so far in advance, but it helped us get through the ordering process quicker because we already knew what we wanted. I agree, it was much better than standing in the regular line! DD16 asked if we can eat there twice in October, but I warned her it's hard enough to get 1 FP for BOG, let alone two! She insists its worth the wait. Me, not so much, but it was one of the highlights for her on our last trip.

So it's okay to change your preorder? We did it last year when preordering wasn't necessary so I have some experience with how the FP works, but not the preordering.

The day after you have used your first BoG Fp+, the system then allows you to book another Fp+ reservation (this is how it worked in February). We had one for the first day of our stay and then another within the 7-day window.

Our pre-order was also lost. Which was fine because my son had changed his mind after our dinner and wanted the soup.

We did run into problems because he didn't want the grilled cheese and the cashier said it was impossible to hold it from the plate (I completely expected to pay full price, I just didn't see the point in having them cook and then throw away something that wasn't going to be eaten.) I spoke with a manager after and he said that wasn't true and noted the castmembers name from my receipt so there could be some clarifying training later.

Preordering isn't necessary now. You can do it if you want, or you can choose the expedited arrival, or whatever it's called, and order from the kiosk when you get there. If you have already preordered and want to change it, you can go into the website and make changes to your order.

We did BOG in February. They couldn find me anywhere in the computer but since I had a printed copy of my order, they let us in. We reordered all our food. Fast forward to yesterday. The person checking us in outside said "Here you are, and I can see you preordered." She handed us our Rose and said to meet Stephanie inside. Once inside, they scanned our bands and said they couldn't find our order, so we had to order once again. They lost our order in the time it took us to walk in!

Bring the printout! Our reservation didn't show in system so having that was our only proof.

It's not liked to MDE, the 2 systems are not connected in any way.

I think the counter-service FP concept is still in testing. Once it isn't, I expect options to widen and MDE taking it over.
