I called this morning and the reservation agent told me they no longer could look to see if you had a pin attached. When I booked the ressie in March, the sweet agent told me to call every week and see if there was one. I have only called 3 times since, but thought I would try this morning. The agent told me it was a new policy as of a month ago, that they didn't have access to look it up. I told her that I had actually called about two weeks ago, and she said that possibly the person I talked to didn't know about the policy.
Has anyone else found this to be true? Or did she just not want to look? If it were true (about a month ago), how would the other agent be able to look it up? Did I miss something?

1st time to MNSSHP...Whoooo Hoooo!!!:)

Call back and ask a different CM to check for a code attached to your name.

I called Wednesday and the CM looked for my name as well as the hubby's. No pin but she was nice enough to it for me.

Did you call back sullins5? I am guessing that if Disney changed that policy more people would be hearing about it...?

DH had to call several times once before he found a CM who found the pin code attached to one of our names (this was about a year ago). I don't know if some CMs don't know how to do it, or can't be bothered?? Not sure.

I called today and was able to have a CM check for me. So it seems like you maybe just had an inexperienced CM on the phone. Good Luck.

the CM offered to see if there were any PINS available to either me or DH. She checked and guess what!?

THERE WAS!! 40% off! :woohoo:

The bad news? It expired YESTERDAY. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I can't believe it. What luck. The only time I've ever received one and I'm one day too late.

Here's hoping that I'll receive another or they will release some PINs to the general public for October. :thumbsup2

I just called and was able to check. Unfortunately I had no PINs today, but had one which expired in June which I never knew about. Oh well! I'll just have to wait for the general AP discounts to be released.

I've never had any problems getting an AP rate in the off season -- hope my luck holds this year!

Yes, I did call again. Just to let ya'll know. Got the same response. I do wonder if it's me?:confused3..The cm yesterday said that I should have never been told to call and check; that I am to call them with the pin code and then they would apply it. I told her again that I had already called 3 or 4 times since I made my ressie, and was told to keep trying, but she told me it was a policy put into effect over a month ago, and that they couldn't give out the info.

I will keep trying! Knowing my luck, there was a 40% off, and they wouldn't let me know about it...:sad2:...I'll just "keep swimmin', just keep swimmin'":)

WHOOOOO HOOOOO!!!

Okay, I know I'm gonna look like a total idiot here... ...

But what exactly is a pin? :confused3

These are codes that Disney emails or send via snail mail which give the bearer a discount or special offering. I've gotten one via email and my DSIL received one via postcard--just nothing that worked for us time-wise:headache:

PIN = Personal Identification Number
Attached to a discount code or offer that only the recipient of the PIN offer can use. It is non-transferable. Usually sent email or snail mail and they have expiration dates...

I have a question:: Is it normal for people to not know if they have a PIN code attached to their name? If Disney sends you a letter or email informing you that you have a PIN code, then why call? I'm starting to get paranoid that I may have a PIN code that I don't know about!

Well, I didnt get a post card or email and I called and there was a PIN for me. Just wasnt good until later in the year and we are going in July. I dont know why i didnt get an email or postcard. Who knows.

For those who have called and had success with a CM telling you your code or pin, what other information did you have to provide? Since many people have the same name, did they also ask for your address, phone #, e-mail?

I, too, have never received an email with a pin...that's why I called. After I had already booked, and was looking at disboards, I remembered someone else calling and asking. So, I tried. Sure enough, there had been one but it had expired, though I never knew about it. And the sweet cm member even checked under dh's name to see if he had a different one. But alas, the last two times I've called, they say there is a new policy that I have to call them with the pin.
I will keep trying though...still hoping for some undiscovered pixie dust!:):yay::yay::yay:

CBR Oct 6-12 for 25th Anniversary!
MNSSHP first timers Oct 8...Whoo Hoooo!

I just called twice. The first time she took my name and address and found nothing but said she couldn't check email and the 2nd time they said they are not able to check at all. Should I keep trying? If I get a 40% code, I can stay onsite.

I read on another thread where someone else said the same thing. They wouldn't tell them if there was a pin attached. But I think it won't hurt to keep trying...only take minutes off my cell phone account, but if I get a cm that'll try, it'll be worth it!
Here's hoping all of us get a pin soon!!!:banana::banana:
