I can't wait to do this!!!! I can't believe the timing of it all. Its the first thing we're heading to on Saturday morning, the 16th (and maybe Friday night too). So, what do you think, no lines, because there's not too many of us out there (relatively speaking, compared to the thousands of guests)?

When we last visited WDW in August 2003, Mission Space was having their preview opening for AP holders. We were able to walk right up, show our AP to the CM outside, and walk right on the ride. No lines, no crowds...some other people who didn't have AP's watched us with envy, and I felt like such a VIP!

What's funny is that the ride was so awesome, me and the kids got off, ran right back around to the entrance, and got right back in..... here's some advice: DON'T EVER DO THAT!!!! That was the dumbest thing I ever did; where was my brain???!! :faint:

This is what I looked like for the next 2 hours:

But it was still pretty awesome!

We are thinking about heading up there for the preview. I hoping since the whole big celebration begins May 5 that alot of people are holding off on their trips. My only problem will be being on the highest level. I'm not a great fan of heights.

Princess, LOL I've ridden MS twice and thats how I felt each time. Needless to say its not something I ride anymore. I am just not into that "head spinning, stomach in my throat" feeling that it gives me for the rest of the day. DDs love it though.

We were not around for the M:S AP preview. (We vacationed here about 2 - 3 weeks later.)
With M:S, that is a ride most peple will not want to ride over, and over, and over, etc.
Same with Stitch. Once you did it once that was fine. Twice would have been PLENTY.
Soarin' -- totally different. This is a ride guests will walk off and want to ride again and again. (We rode Soarin' about three months after it was open in DCA.)
I still do not anticipate long lines or waits during AP/DVC preview. Just longer than Stitch. And the CMs were VERY particular at Stitch about ONLY letting in guests that had a valid AP or DVC pass.
even here I read where one family member has an AP. I will be very surprised if they allow anyone in as a "guest" to the guest. (That's the point of having a perk as an AP/DVC holder.)

I wonder tho how picky they'll be for DVC members, as you only get one card per family/contract? =/ If a family went down with grammie and grampie, they'd hopefully all be able to get on as "DVC members", theoretically?

Sorry! You weren't listening? Then you missed them.

Just kidding. They are posted at most of these sites.

Mid April sometime.

This is probably apples and oranges....

...but when Tower of Terror opened at Disney's California Adventure last year, there was a long line, even with reservations. And then we only got to ride once. With a voucher. After showing our annual passes and signing away our firstborn children. One person, one pass, one ride. And of course we did it.

:rotfl:

I just happened to be in the AP area on the Disney page and saw this. Thought it was worth a copy and paste as this subject is discussed often.

Soarin'? Preview

Passholders are invited to be among the first to preview the exhilarating new attraction, Soarin'?, before its official opening in May 2005. Inspired by the Soarin' Over California attraction at Disney's California Adventure? Theme Park, this thrilling free-flight adventure takes Guests on an aerial journey down the Golden State, from the majesty of Yosemite to the bright lights of Hollywood. So grab your Passholder ID* and head over to The Land Pavilion at Epcot®. from April 15 - 17, 2005* and start soarin'!

Passholders can also purchase exclusive Soarin'? pins at Pin Central in Epcot®. This is a limited edition pin of 2,000 with a limit of two pins per Passholder per day.

*Valid Passholder I.D. required.

We were at WDW when the Dinorama area of AK was previewed for passholders. We also thought - WOW, there shouldn't be a big crowd - let's go!

Boy, were we surprised. I have NEVER seen so many people in one park in my life (and we make very frequent trips). It was so crowded that after we got our free ice cream and pop and took a quick look around, we just had to leave. There was no way we were going to even close to the rides in less than an hour. We went back a couple of days later and it was much more reasonable.

Now, they held a special event just for this and it was just one evening only, so maybe that contributed to the crowds. But, if I was going in April or May, I would expect it to be much more crowded than usual. That way if it isn't bad, you are pleasantly surprised.

(Now, let's add that I WISH we were going then - but we have to wait for June and fight the summer crowds!)

well I'm not going to be there in April but I just have to throw in here how much I LOVE THIS RIDE :goodvibes We rode at DL last year on our CA trip and I just couldn't get enough of it. We rode it over and over....it is the best ride I have ever ridden!! When we were coming home to Massachusetts I was more sad about leaving 'Soarin' then I was about leaving DL or California. We visit WDW very often but I knew it would be awhile before I get back to DL....WELL WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE to read immediately upon my return that WDW was building a Soarin that would open in '05' :Pinkbounc that would be open by my july '05' trip

Debbie, thanks for posting that. It makes me even more excited to preview this ride in four more weeks! I can't even imagine what it will be like, but everyone makes it sound awesome.
