So will cruises be going to Nassau now?

Our mid-September cruise still has Nassau on the itinerary. I talked to shoreside concierge services and they said they had no information about an itinerary change. Do we think cruises will actually go to Nassau given the new requirements? It still feels safer to me to stick to the "bubble" of just CC, so aside from the benefit of a double dip, I'm really hoping we just skip Nassau. 🤞 Maybe that's just lower on the list of things to get changed behind the vaccine mandate and the Fantasy changes?

Yes they will go that is why DCL just issued the statement that everyone 12+ have to be fully vaccinated. If they weren't going to stop there Disney would not impose the rule that you could not board the boat unless you are fully vaccinated.

DCL had stated in a prior update that cruises would only be going to Castaway Cay. CC is part of the Bahamas and that's why they had to issue the mandate. I'm asking about Nassau in particular, as I believe most of us believed they would be replacing that with another stop at CC or a sea day.

I wouldn't be to sure of that. Disney might want to just avoid Nassau because of their high virus rates.

I'll check with my family member who one of the trainers for the DCL staff. Not sure when I will hear from her. She is doing a test cruise Thur for the Fantasy and then she heads out west to train next week for that sailing.

If DCL didn't mandate vaccines, they would not be able to stop at Castaway Cay starting 9/3.

And the Bahamian rule for 9/3 explicitly included the private islands. They'd been permitting it prior.

This is from the DCL website, the bottom says the ships will only be going to Castaway.

and "Cruises to nowhere" are not legal out of US ports. So they gotta go somewhere and back in a short time period

The new 4-day Fantasy sailings are supposed to be uploaded tomorrow I believe...I would expect to see all the itineraries change at the same time with the Dreams also being all updates to Castaway only (or Double Dips)

I don't know if my question was misunderstood or I'm misunderstanding the answers. We know they're going to Castaway Cay, which is part of the Bahamas, which necessitates the vaccine mandate. That part is for certain.

They said for "initial sailings" on the Dream and Fantasy they would only go to Castaway Cay, but as of now, that is only officially shown for sailings through early September for the Dream. Sailings after the first week of September still show Nassau on the itinerary.

When I asked shoreside concierge if our current itinerary was still correct, they said "Yes, your itinerary has one stop at Nassau and one at Disney Castaway Cay along with a Day at Sea. You will be contacted if there are any updates to your itinerary."

So I guess I'm just wondering if this vaccine mandate change anything with their plans or if we truly are only going to Castaway Cay, they just haven't gotten around to updating the itinerary for our cruise yet. DCL sure hasn't worked to make all of this any less confusing!

That makes sense. That's probably what will happen.

Not exactly the case; a stop at Castaway Cay would trigger the mandate in regards to vaccinations; i.e. ... the island still falls within Bahama's legal jurisdiction.

When is your cruise? I thought guests booked on all the Fantasy sailings for September were already contacted. Those cruises are changing to 4-nights, with 2 stops at CC and a day at-sea; no stop at Nassau. Whether cruises in October and beyond will be similarly adjusted remains to be seen.

Mid/late September Dream cruises were not updated today -- they're listed separate from early September Dream and all September Fantasy saillings, as Bahamian cruises not Double Dip cruises. It's seem crazy to me that they're taking the Dream to Nassau but I got on chat this morning and the cast member said there are currently no updates to the Dream itineraries are they are sailing as planned.

We really don't want to be on a ship with passengers getting off in Nassau, so I guess we're switching to the Fantasy? Going to be really frustrated if we go through that, change flights, etc. and then they DO change the Dream itineraries. Do we think that's still coming?

Honestly nobody can really answer that for you. Disney has essentially contradicted themselves. Their website clearly states that they will only be going to Castaway for the foreseeable future but don't indicate an exact date as what foreseeable future means.

Also depends which source of information you trust more, the website or cast member on the phone/chat.

I honestly think they have bigger concerns they are working on than adjusting ports right now.

the odds of them allowing cruise guests to wander freely through Nassau in 2 weeks is slim to none

I get that, but as someone sailing in 2 weeks, I'd like to know for sure. If they aren't going to Nassau, it'd be really helpful if cast members were better informed so they could provide that answer even if DCL can't get around to updating itineraries on our reservation and for bookings. We will not sail if it's going to Nassau and the fact that there's no indication that that's not the case except for a vague line on the website is frustrating. Just got off the phone with shoreside concierge and they also said there are no plans to change the Dream itineraries and they will sail to Nassau. So 🤷‍♀️
