I hate to say it but I am so not in the mood to start decorating. DD just asked when are we going to decorate our trees. I'm feeling a bit ba-hum-buggish. I am usually all ready and excited by now but this year I am just not feeling it. So who else is feeling the same way as me?????

I am not in the mood either...but we plan to do it next weekend so hopefully I am in a more festive spirit then. Of course I have to dig the tree and decorations out of the back of storage grrr...

It's not that I'm not ready to decorate there are a few things holding me back. Our house is on the small side and we haven't had a full size tree up here yet. We don't have enough decorations to fill the whole tree. And we have a kitten that I know will be all over the tree. So with all of those together I'm thinking we may stick with the small tree again this year. I don't know. We don't have kids so it isn't the same decorating for Christmas when there aren't little ones in the house often.

I have my lights up on my porch and my tree up. It is pre~lit. But I do NOT want to decorate it at all! It has been like this for the past week!
I am kind of not in the mood to do so! I like just looking at the tree with just lights! it is pretty and relaxing!

I'm not ready yet. I dont decorate much because we go away for a week but I do have a 4 foot tree that I put in the TV room. I'll be away for the next two weekends and then leave for WDW so I'm not even sure when I will get that up. I will be putting lights on our cabin though! :goodvibes I told my husband that I didnt think I would bring them this year since we are only staying for 5 days but he actually wants them!

I had all good intentions of decorating today and then other stuff got in my way. There's always tomorrow....

We havn't decorated in years! I love the holidays but we are never at home, we celebrate christmas eve at my sisters and christmas day at my folks, so we havn't had a tree up in probally 5 or 6 years. But now that my DS is here, we will need to put a tree up next year, he will be two then and he will know we are missing one, LOL! I just wish I know where to put it!

Well, I put the tree together several hours ago and put the lights on it. Then I decided to take a break and haven't gotten back to it yet. My DS11 keeps asking when we can put the ornaments on and I keep saying, "Pretty soon." I know if I don't get off the computer and do it then it won't happen until Monday. We're going to a concert tomorrow afternoon and before that I have to do grocery shopping and get ready for the week. No time for the tree. So, I guess I'll drag my sorry-you-know-what off the chair and shut down the computer and get myself the heck in there!

I will say that we did the outside decorating today. We always have a little race with our neighbor across the street to get ours up first. He was out there this afternoon with his stuff half hung and yakking on his cell phone. So we quickly put the lights on the bush and put up the snowman and then asked him what was taking him so long. He's been claiming for 12 years that he doesn't care if he finishes first but we know he always secretly tries to beat us (but he never does!).:)

WAAAY too early to decorate for us! I'm not feeling "bah-humbugish"...I'm just not ready to decorate yet! It's still NOVEMBER. I know I'm fighting a losing battle here, but I firmly believe you don't start the holiday decorating until December 1 at the earliest.

We have neighbors that have had the whole outside Christmas lights and decorations going for TWO WEEKS already. :sad2:

I love the holiday season, but I like it to last at the most about three weeks, and that is INCLUDING the New Year. Any longer than that and I just get SICK of it and want the stuff down.

To each their own. :) We won't be decorating until the second week in December. Works for us.

We did ours this evening, finally!! DD11 has been asking for a few days when we were going to put up the tree. So, this afternoon, I got out all the boxes and she helped out a lot- put almost all the ornaments on the tree, helped me put lights up, arranged the nutcrackers and other Christmas knicknacks on the mantle, etc. It was pretty great having a helper- I really didn't have to do too much, and we got the whole thing done in only a couple of hours.

Now, if I could just get DH to put the lights up on the house, we'd be all set!!

I never decorate right after Thanksgiving because, really, it's just too much overload for me. I work full-time, I prep Thanksgiving dinner, and I do some shopping on this weekend. Putting up a tree would probably throw me over the edge!!

I generally do it about 2-3 weeks prior to Christmas when things are bit calmer and I'm more in the mood for it.

We close and take possession on 12/18. We're moving in on the 21st. On the 18th, I'll have my tree on the top of my car and the decorations in the back at closing. When the movers get there with the truck, our tree will already be there decorated. :)

I'm not really in the mood yet either.

The house is a disaster, I'm eight weeks pregnant, my dad passed away about 2 weeks ago, and to top it all off my 91 yo grandmother had a nasty fall the Monday before Thanksgiving. I'm just not really feeling it this year. I hope that changes.

I have already done all the decorating that is being done.
It is all in my signature below.

I have been doing some major remodeling
any decorations would all be in the way.

Im ready...my house is not!

I spent all day shopping Friday and 1/2 day yesterday. I had to get the kids presents wrapped before they got home from Nana's. After 18 and 15 years, they know all my hiding spots!

I also have my college son home for the holiday, with all of his laundry! He was at Nana's since Wednesday, so I made a special meal last night and we all ate in the dining room, with the good dishes!

I have to decorate this year because last year we were at Disney World until 12/05 and when I got home, I had to get back to work and my weekends were spent shopping for Christmas and 2 of my kids birthdays. I never decorated!

Before I get started decorating, I have to remove things to make room and bring them down to the basement..I hate doing this part!

If anyone has words to motivate me, please say them!

have the guy coming to put up the outside lights this Thursday and I am waiting on the tree people to call me back again to reset the day for them to do the tree. The other stuff is kinda getting put out here and there today .

Has anyone every used those "wording stickers " they come in a tube . I have one I want to put on a wall near the tree that says "But SANTA I can Explain " it is in little kid handwritting very cute . But I am worried about taking it down and making sure it leave now marks on the wall .:sad1:

yep us too. we're still waiting for the light guy to come, and the tree decorator (mom doesn't have that much time to dig all the ornaments out)....

it should be fully done in the next 2 weeks or so! :woohoo:

Last year, I just didn't care about putting up the tree. I bought and wrapped presents, but just couldn't get into the mood. Finally, on Dec 23rd, we bought a display tree at Target for really cheap, and put some decorations on it. (Actually DD put on the ornaments and toys.)

We were going to throw the tree away afterwards, but I took it to work and stored it in the file room. It's now the official department tree.

We bought a great tree after Christmas last year, and we put it up the other night. I'm more into it this year, thank goodness.
