So...who IS coming to the TSM Meet?

Is it just me or is anyone else "bothered" by the language at the bottom of the TSM email confirmation:

"Due to regulations set-forth by Disney Event Services no audio or video recording of any kind is permitted at the event. In addition, by entering this event you agree that any photographs you take are for your own personal use and will not be printed or published in any way, shape or form. This includes, but is not limited to, newspaper, magazine, promotion, advertising, website, blog or discussion forum."

What is Disney Event Services trying to hide by not allowing us to post any pictures? Their secret dessert recipes, perhaps? (Did someone say CAKE?!?!?) :cake: Or is it the price they will be charging us at the cash bar? :drinking1 Or maybe it is the incredibly high scores we are all going to get on TSM? :yay:

Hmmmm, inquiring minds want to know. :rolleyes1 Or am I just channeling my inner Oliver Stone in order to believe there is a conspiracy going on here? :confused3

My guess is that those are really John's rules and he's just trying to pass them off as Disney's ;)

Me, myself and I will be there! :cool1:

For the record, I am totally stepping out of my comfort zone here. My first ever solo trip, at the age of 35? An attraction full of people I've never met? I do not do well in these situations, at all. Even if you are all Disney freaks (and I mean that in the BEST way!), I'm as nervous as I am excited!

Anyone willing to take me under their wing? :confused3

I'll be there with my Dad. He doesn't get Disney, so please don't scare him.

Nevermind. :scared1:

OK, I totally could've written this post! In fact, I even almost said "Me, myself & I will be there" when I posted!

I'm right there with you on the just as nervous as I am excited. What if I end up standing alone in some corner? What if I don't fit in? What if I can't think of anything to say? What if I'm the only one who can't beat J-Kim's score?

I received the confirmation email :cool1:

My mother and I will be there

Karen (apurplebrat) and Kaye

Oh John, John, John. You sneaky little devil you with the legalese. :rotfl2: Blame it all on Disney. Yea, that's the ticket - blame it on Disney. :rolleyes1

Actually, I do wonder why all the restrictions? I could see if it was a fee based website but for attendees who use a free fan website to post their happy memories it seems to be a bit of over kill. I suppose it is easier to just generally disallow all forms of publication rather than try to police only certain kinds. But wouldn't that make all the pictures posted by say a Disney bride (just for example) of their Epcot Illuminations dessert parties against the rules also? Must be the lawyer in me that makes me ponder these things. :confused3

We're in. Jeff (OKW Lover) & Val (OKW Lover2)

Emiel and I will be there.

This has to do with the contact Dreams Unlimited Travel signed with Disney for this event. It basically contaings language that says they have complete control over all the images from this event. In order to ensure these images are not used in any commercial venue they have wide sweeping clauses to prevent their use anywhere without their expressed permission.

While the DIS and DISBoards are free websites they still are commercial websites and not affiiliated with Disney so they have to do their best to protect their licensing and branding.

Save some room in the corner for me......and maybe while we are there we could CALL my husband who will be on Disney property but I didn't even waitlist him!

Even my children couldn't believe I was going to experience Toy Story Mania for the first time without them. But we are going back as a family over Christmas.......that should count for something, right?

And after reading about all of these families going together and people going with their spouses etc., I do feel a bit guilty. But a friend told me that I have a "mixed marriage" -- one of us is a Disney Freak and the other is not so so so Freakish.....:rolleyes1 I'm sure I will have enough fun for all of my family at the event! ;)

Of course it does! You're being a good mom and checking it out beforehand to make sure it's OK for them. That's superior mothering in my book ;)

Thank you so much for recognizing my mothering skillz!!

Now you really know that's me....always putting the kiddies (ages 10 & 12) safety first -- Disney can be so very dangerous!!

I will be there by myself too so if we meet up ahead of time we can be the three plus musketeers! (if more singles join us)

Is the tree lighting ceremony event on Sat Dec 13 also? I don't want to miss an opportunity to remember Bawb...:grouphug:

I travel alone quite frequently so I'm used to it. Don't worry, you will both have a great time. Folks from the Dis are super friendly, fun people. No one will let you stand in the corner by yourself, promise. Plus if you join us for Friday's DATW you'll have already made some friends. (alcohol tends to loosen you up ya know) :rotfl:

As for scoring on TSM, don't worry. I am legally blind. If I can score 157,000 points, anybody can. (my high score so far with lots of practice)

I'll be there w/ my friend Aimee! :cool2:

ETA: Wow Brandie you're fast! You added Aimee and I to the list within seconds!

Me, too...solo, extremely shy, will just hover in a corner all by myself...
