So who is calling tomorrow to get on the member cruise?

I got through at 9:10a, then finally got the music and approx wait time at 9:25a then talked to someone at 9:36a and then I was confirmed and done at 10:00a.

I was only surprised that the total due was the whole cruise instead of a deposit but other then that it went smoothly!! :cool1:

we have been trying for 74 minutes with 7 phone lines.............i even have my office personal helping..................WOW

Wow...are you saying it took them 24 minutes to book one cabin? No wonder this is a slow process!!

I vote next year we move to the Internet and book online ourselves. I'd much rather just hit refresh then dialing over and over and over and over....

:-)

If you get thru the prompt and then get dead air....

DO NOT HANG UP!

You are in the waiting queue and safe at that point.

mark.............i think we screwed up huge then about 5 times

Ok....we are in!!!

Room 7628

Can't wait!

Yes....as others said....if you get connected and get dead air, DO NOT HANG UP! It will eventually switch to a special recording/on hold music for the Member Cruise. I was on hold for nearly an hour....had dead air for about 20 minutes of that (actually had 2 phones with dead air...both eventually went to the "on hold" music/announcements) The booking process took about 10 minutes.

That's why I mentioned it. I'm sure a lot of people think they're disconnected then, and they certainly are not.

The progression is:

- get thru hit 3.
- dead air
- one recording reminding what you need to have ready.
- ringing
- second and final hold with music interrupted every few minutes by someone talking abut the email newsletter.
- talk to a person.

This process can take a half hour or more so be patient, once you get thru step one you are definitely in.

OK... I am NOT happy. I decided to call. Got thru at 9:01 and have been on HOLD EVER SINCE> I am reading folks called after me got thru... I am giving it a few more minutes, but if I don't get thur I am giving up (AND CALLING MONDAY TO SCREAM... that makes no sense.)

I was on the 407 # I had the music etc... FOR TWO HOURS!! Then the system hung up on me.

I will call Monday and complain. I don't expect them to do anything for me, but I see no reason why I was on hold for two hours and never got a human when folks who got thru half an hour after me got assistance. (ANd I can send them the VERIZON log to prove I was on hold for two hours to the right number!)

Sorry to hear that Carol. :(

The only reason I can give you is the whole system was pushed to its limits and probably beyond.

Some other DVCers will be getting the two cabins we would have booked. The 633 points or $4885 price was not a good value for our vacation plans next year. We will be using our points for 3 weeks of DVC vacations instead. :cool1:

Oh That's Awful!

Don't know what to say. :confused3

Well, I called back at 11. Got right in and got what I wanted!!!

However, I am still going to call Monday and point out what happened. I think they had some instances of this last time and it appears to me that there is an issue with the phone system...

Now it's decision time... I am still not 10% sure we are going on this one.. we will see. I put it on my CC and figure I may just pay interest for a month while I think about it! LOL!

I had the same phone isues, redialed for 90 min, finally got through, hit option 3, got an estimated hold time of 20 min, listened to messages for 20 min, then heard ringing like I was finally in then click, click...got disconnected and line went dead.

It could be phone system stress, or excited operator double clicking their off hook button or a number of things.

Dialed again for 30 min, got through, this time waited another 20 min and then a real human got on. From then it took about 10-12 min to close the deal. Got the cabin Cat 9 I asked for at approx 11:00 CT.

Good luck all!

The disconnedt doesn't bother me.. The TWO HOUR hold is the issue. Folks calling in at 9:30 got helped while I was still on hold????

Interesting...

I thought by this time last year it was SOLD OUT! (Does anyone remember?)

Last year as I was on the phone giving my information to the operator, she put me on hold for 5 minutes, came back and said they were totally sold out!! That was at 2:10 p.m. I think we were first on the waiting list and we did get in in Januar and had a wonderful cruise. Passed on this on though as it was too pricey for only going to CC two days. Wish everyone a great time.

Yes, I do think it sold faster last year. I tried for hours to get through only to have them say it was sold out. We did wait list, but ended up taking the repo cruise home in August instead. 4 nights compared to 14, although we would have loved to be on a member cruise. I still wish they would do a 7 night member one.
