Y'know, the one w/out a paddle? I also have 2 FF tix...but nothing available on those 'till 19 or 20 and I am afraid the crowds will be HUGE by then..what to do,what to do......

I am still waiting on about 25 family members for my vow renewal to book there airfare. They are all coming from the west coast December 19-26 and the airfare is crazy. Hope some good fares open up soon.

We still haven't decided when our Dec trip is going to be. i haven't even begun to look at Dec fares.

we have not booked yet, going nov 29th- dec 4th.
i have not booked yet as, everyone keeps telling me there are price wars/ will be price wars and i have yet to see an decrease in my flight / airlines/ prices.
flying from MKE, to MCO midwest airlines is 223 $ r/t and NWA IS 215$ R/T they have been the same ( within 5 $) since i have been watching since jan 04.
i am thinking that being after a holiday weekend it wont go down, or there are just no great prices from MKE to MCO that time of year. not sure- mabye its just to early......but i cant bring my self OR dh to pay $900 for 4 tickets when i see the GREAT prices people post on here......i spose i will have to bite the bullet and buy them within the next 2 mths - my sister the flyer says i need them buy end of sept or price will go up

so....we are here with those who dont have AF yet  -

Me Neither:

December is my annual solo camping trip/RADP/Mousefest trip.

I will only book airfare if I can get direct RT for less than $130.

It costs me about $140 to drive.

For this trip it is a tradeoff of 11 hours driving vs. a short, direct flight, but then since I'm camping, if I fly, I will have to pack VERY carefully.

So the airfare has to be pretty good for me to fly in December.

I don't mind driving solo at all. It's the 2-3 car 5-10 people drives that I hate cause it always adds 2-3 hours to the drive as nobody gets in sync on meals, gas tanks, or bathroom breaks.

We booked on SONG for $115.20 RT from EWR to MCO. I have been travelling to WDW the first part of DEC for 4 years and I have never seen it so low. I think this fare is from the second week of Sept to the middle of Dec. Continental also matches this fare. Our Dec dates are 12/8 to 12/13.
We also got $100 credit vouchers to apply to this trip from our Sept (pin event) trip. Only paid $15.20 additional for these tickets.

Seems like all the deals are from NY! I need the later dates in the month.....this is what I get for not deciding to go at Xmas 'till now!

Gary M, we just got the same deal from SWA this morning. $135 RT non-stop from buffalo to MCO for Dec 3 – Dec 11. Tickets sales were finally extended to Dec 11 just last week and a few days later southwest.com offered one-way fares for $59 each way. It saved us almost $300 for our 7 tickets.

We are playing the waiting game as well. I saw the new SWA rates thru Dec. 11. We need them thru the 12th and so I'm holding out again to see if there will be another price drop sometime soon.
Good luck to all the procrastinators like me!

I have not booked our December airfare yet either. We are going first week in December and so far the airfare is $256....but a week in mid-September is $178 R/T including tax and fees! I'm REALLY hoping to get that rate...or better, so I'm holding off booking our airfare. I have our rooms booked and have gotten tickets though. I will be SO relieved when the airfare is taken care of! I just keep watching and checking every day.

We just got a great deal last week. MSP to MCO for $160. We have a short lay-over in Chicago, but nothing we can't handle! We're very lucky, we were able to move our reservations around to accomodate the low fare, so now we'll be there from 12-8 thru 12-13. Just long enough!

Just saw on Indy TV where NWA will start nonstop flights from IND to MCO this fall. We will have ATA, SWA and NWA all flying N/S to Orlando. Nothing like competition to help keep fares low.

and it is driving me absolutely crazy.
But I refuse to pay over $200 per person for a flight from Philly.
I'm climbing the walls because when it comes to vacation, I usually have my tickets in hand over 8 months in advance.

well, booked all 4 of us for the 18-25...but get this, while I was talking to ticket agent she mantions that they have a late flight out of MCO Xmas night and it is about $40 cheaper p person. I said that I knew that, and explained that MIL was insisting we be at the dinner table by 5 pm or "don't bother coming" (gotta love the Xmas spirit) and that it will be a little rough on our 9 year old to rush out Xmas morning, but we will have had our Xmas Eve there, and Christmas is about family etc., ,,,ticket agent says, "can you hold for a moment?" I said sure, and about 5 minutes later she comes back and says that she has all 4 of us on the early flight, but at the lower fare!:hyper: She mentioned something about fares dropping yesterday on many airlines, and that new flights are opening up.( I would have waited myself to see if anything better was out there but knew we HAD to be on that specific flight home) She said, I guess it's Xmas in July, something about the kids sounding more mature than their Grandma ....and then booked us @ $706 for all 4 of us! She also said that maybe that helps take the sting out of missing out on park hours on the last day, and that she has had MIL "issues" herself;)
So anyway....AA REALLY came thru for us, and we did not even have to use any FF miles!
Now any suggestions on how to do the World at Xmas in 6 1/2 days? I think this will be a challenge crowd wise.

Pam

We're still waiting for Southwest - haven't even looked at other airfares & probably won't since we have some SW credit we want to use. Our dates are December 12 - January 1. Really hoping Southwest comes through for us.
