After months of having profound conversations with my best friend, she has finally come around and is now batting for our team, the Obama team that is.
You have no idea how big of a deal it is. Shes an ultra-conservative (and devout Christian) Republican and was one of those Obama is the AntiChrist people. We have always had a great relationship, shes more like my big sister and I love her kids as if they were my own. When I first came out I thought it was going to be the end of our 24 year friendship, but she was there for me from day one. We respect each others beliefs and instead of avoiding the hot topics (religion and sexuality) we find a constructive way of talking about them... so when she told me last night that she was voting for Obama it was hard not to jump off the couch and do my personal rendition of the I told you so hymn my mother used to do to me.
