I know, it sounds like a silly question but bear with me :goodvibes

A couple of years ago we jumped in our rental car in Anaheim and put in the address for our hotel in Carlsbad. After a couple of hours of DH muttering and mumbling he came out with, "This is NOT the way to San Diego that I remember as a kid!". It turns out, after travelling via the Ortega Highway (gorgeous but seriously nerve wracking bends in some parts) and Lake Elsinore, we discovered that the "wonderful" person who had used the hired GPS before us had changed the settings to "avoid" almost everything :headache: While a relatively short trip turned into an almost all-day event it was still quite fun (we are the adventurous type after all) and we got to pass by many lovely places.

BUT (and there's always a but) there is one place that we went through that we would like to go back to on our next trip. The only thing is we have no idea where we were when we drove through it (after Lake Elsinore). And that's where you, lovely Dis-ers, come in  And I only have the one photo to show you. It could be Calico Town or it could be Julian, but I don't think know. The google searches I've been doing doesn't come up with this particular building. The street was dressed up beautifully for Christmas and there appeared to be many restaurants (that we could make out anyway) but as we drove through one main road we couldn't see what ran off the side streets.

Please help us locate the lovely place we went through and wish to revisit popcorn::

Hi!

I don't think it's Julian. I just checked the street view on google maps of Main St and that building isn't on it.

Thank you so much for your quick replies! :grouphug: :flower3: :goodvibes pixiedust:

Okay, so now I can have a look through the Temucla links and work out what we can do. Do you think it would be dreadfully busy over the MLK weekend? We'll be doing the Neverland 5K at DLR but didn't want to be at the parks over the weekend.

Lol to be honest I have no idea what the heck goes on in downtown Temecula but I can pretty much guess it won't be "dreadfully busy". If you like wine, go to some of the many wineries in Temecula (but not in Old Town) for some great tastings!!!

You sure did get the long way around didn't you? I lived in Corona and Riverside and Temecula......You had quite an adventure, I am glad you two made the best of it....:lmao:

Sometimes the best experience happen by pure accident. Glad it worked out for you. :)

Thank you, Mary Jo. That is exactly how we view life. It's all about the journey, not necessarily the destination. We are looking at going back over the MLK weekend.
