I would love some ideas for some yummy things to make.

Thanks-
Deb :)

I haven't really thought about this yet, but I do know that DS's will be begging me to make stuffed clams!

Well, we won't be watching  as no one in the household enjoys sports...except maybe gymnastics & figure skating. ;)

However, for an event like that I have a couple different things I like to do. I like to either roast a turkey with a great rub that I use - unstuffed - until I can shred the meat. I cook the bones overnight right in the pan with all the drippings & then store the shredded meat in the broth I've made. I serve this out of my crockpost on hard rolls with horseradish sauce.

I do the same type of thing with a beef roast made in the crockpot.

If I'm not worried about people being sloppy (because this sauce would stain if dropped) I made the following recipe & serve on rolls or over noodles or rice.

Company Sausage & Meatballs
2 lb hamburger
½ c Parmesan cheese
¼ c bread crumbs
½ tsp garlic powder
dash pepper
1 c oatmeal
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
½ tsp oregano
30 Jimmy Dean links, skinless
32 oz catsup
¼ c brown sugar
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp mustard
¾ c BBQ sauce
½ c cider vinegar
1½ tsp garlic powder
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
garlic, minced (opt)
onion, chopped (opt)
Combine hamburger, cheese, crumbs, garlic powder, pepper, oatmeal, eggs, salt & ½ tsp oregano to make meatballs. Use a melon baller to make meatballs. Microwave meatballs on HIGH ~ 20 at a time – cover with wax paper. Repeat with sausages ~10 at a time. Combine remaining ingredients & simmer with sausage & meatballs 6 hours. Yield: 60+ meatballs & 30 sausages

This is for dipping coconut shrimp but sounds way too good not to use with something else.....

Pina Colada Dipping Sauce

1/2 C sour cream
1/4 C pina colada mix
1/4 C canned crushed pineapple
2T sugar

Serve chilled.

Maybe as a dip for fruit

That sounds really good Deb!!!!!

We aren't going to watch either as we aren't big football fans either. Probably rent a couple of movies to watch during that time.

DD13 will be going to church for the SOUPER bowl party and I will send the usual stuff---chips, dip, sausage & cheese balls, fruit plate, veggies etc. Church is providing pizza, drinks, hot wings and other stuff. I will NOT miss the super bowl b/c I LOVE football. Of course I'll be very disappointed if Janet isn't on the 1/2 time show flashing us again! NOT!!! ;)
The youth group will be collecting cans of soup for our local care group for the needy.

I was hoping we would be going out to a friend who throws parties lots of years, but not this year :( so we will be home. DH is thinking of making coconut shrimp and deep fried oreos. I don't know what else is in the works.

That pina colada dipping sauce sounds D-licious! I might have to give that a try.

We are bring boring here with chili (although I do make two types), corn bread and pigs in a blanket for the kids. Chips and dips for munchies.
