He didn't want to be out there dancing with his mom forever so he told the DJ to cut it when he made a signal, which he did once he saw people losing interest.

Last April 3 when my oldest son was married they had a father/bride - groom/mother dance. We danced to Through the Years with Kenny Rogers.

We did the same thing. Combined them both & used Through the Years.

"To A Sleeping Beauty" by Jimmy Dean....yup the sausage guy!

By the time people at the reception realized what was going on...and it wasn't a song they'd heard before, you could hear pin drop...then there wasn't a dry eye in the place. I surprised my dad with the song, which had a long history with us, but he thought I had forgotten about! It's a bit long, but the words are perfect...at least they were for us. I still can't read these lyrics without getting teary eyed.

Because you loved me-Celine Dion. But there's another song by that guy that sounds like Elton John (in my opinion). I can never remember his name but the song's name is "beautiful in my eyes" (I think). I've always thought it was such a perfect song for a father/daughter dance, but it wasn't around when I got married in 1999.

Hopefully someone will know what the heck I'm talking about because it's a great song!
