So, what is the point of an electrical outlet in a pantry, 5' off the floor?

we had a built-in oven that (of course) had to have an outlet. We took that out and put in a stove-top/oven where the stove-top only was before and put a pantry in where the built-in was. Consequently we have an outlet in our pantry-which is about 5' from the floor.

It's for Christmas lights. The walk-in pantry is the perfect place to store your fully decorated tree. When December arrives, you just roll it out fully lit and you are all set!

Outside the pantry, Christmas lights--inside, I have no idea.

When we did our kitchen remodel in our own home, we put outlets on top. We loved having Christmas lights year round.

My neighbors have their cable box and DVD player in their pantry, so that there are no electronics showing in the living areas besides the tv screen.
