think of your Disney obsession?

My family just shakes their head..."whatever". Although The Ray is just plain Disney obsessed (not to pins in particular like me) his family thinks if he wasn't so 'into' Disney our marriage would have lasted.....how bizarre...if he wasn't such a Disney fan I would have left him even sooner.....hehehehhehehehehehe

I did talk with a gentleman the other day, who, in conversation mentioned his love of Disney....I responded, "Cool! I am a fan as well" and I went on to talk about my pins etc.....
He replied, "How can you NOT love Disney?"
A mighty fine question I say!

They just plain old think I am nuts. They roll the eyes - lokk at me sideways and shake their heads. I am so used to it now I don't even give it a second thought.

But they all come to me to help plan trips - don't they. So guess that is a disney addicts best revenge. Little things like make sure you try the Italina version in the Coke display - hehehehe!

My family is the same. They can't understand my obsession but they go along with me on trips at least once a year. Maybe it is because I pay for everything. Hey their not that dumb!
One of my brothers makes fun of me whenever we get together, "Been to Disney this week" But I am taking him and his family to my DVC next year so just wait. Now that he has kids of his own I bet they will want to go see Mickey (my nephew calls him Icky, can't say his "M's") and my niece is crazy about Cinderella. Auntie Peggie will make sure they become obsessed.
MY sister lived in FL for almost 10 years and never went to WDW. I brought her 2 years ago against her wishes and now she has an AP and goes every Saturday. She loves to call me and tell me they were bored at home so they are in WDW, or they were hungry so they decided to go to Germany for dinner.
I take my dad every year now and he already is talking about our trip next year. I have created a monster.
None of them collect like I do, that would give them no ammunition but I have my niece and I promise to bring her into our collectors cult. (Do we have to initiate a new member each year or something)
But if they all left me tomorrow I still would continue my loyalty to WDW and my mouse. I can always find another family!

Most of them just don't get it. My brother keeps telling me there are other places to go besides WDW, I tell him I've already gone.

We asked the kids if they would rather cut back on WDW trips to go somewhere else. They said only if it's Tokyo DL, DL Paris or DL California.

The word has been spread that we are Disney nuts. Now other "closet" Disney nuts seek us out and we plan trips with them.

It's much easier being with people who get it rather than those who do not.

I guess I'm lucky.... it runs in the family :)

My sister is so Disney crazy that she takes the entire 8th grade of the middle school where she teaches to Disney World every year. Yes, she plans and packs up over 100 13 & 14 year olds and puts them on a bus for 12 hours (each way) for a 3 day trip to DW.

I prefer my Disney a little more low key ;)

They think I am out of my cotton pickin' mind (shut up Chas!)!

But they are used to it and resigned to it!:D

My Husband is still looking for a 10 step program for me ---- not sure 10 steps will be enough.

Pritty much a mix of all of the above.

But we do get all the Disney questions and are considered quite knowledgable in the area.

I can't help feeling that Mike & I are somehow cosidered savants at times, and WDW is considered the proper institution for us:)

My grandsonis the only one that understands. My Son thinks I'm gone. and my daughter thinks lets not say...

My husband just goes along... But I think I'm converting him.. He even pin traded this last event. And even brought some pins for himself... I guess he feels Join why fight it!!

We have made many great Friends Pin trading. THey even visit us in New York and we give the grand tour ..

We live in our own Disney World.

and I'm HAPPY I think that important

Cathy

Pretty much all of the above. :)
I converted Andrew, he was not interested in Disney when we first met.

Personally, I think family & friends like it because it makes for easy gift shopping for me. :bounce:

they have alway know I was nuts but this Disney thing baffles them. My brother loves it cause I drag him and family along with s everys often so he's cool with it . Other say why are you going so often but the are somewhat resign that I don't care what they think, and am having lots of fun . Since we have bought into DVc I take some of them along so they are starting to get it . When people ask us where we are going we just look at them and say Guess. Brenda

My mom keeps asking why don't we ever go somewhere else.
But I don't know anywhere else my teenagers can move about safely and freely....and it's not like my mom has ever agreed to watch my kids while DH and I go on vacation.

It's the only place I can go where there is so much fun stuff to do that my mind never drifts back to my day-to-day problems.

Oh gosh....I have got to nail down the dates of our next trip. Without that beacon, I can hardly make it through the day.
