"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

I'm caught up again. I love your review on Tony's. I booked it the other day on a whim and now I'm really glad that I did. It looks and sounds great.

Your safari pics are REALLY good Sarah! :thumbsup2 I especially like the pic of you with the Gorilla in the background. That's really neat. :goodvibes

wow! those are great pics from the safari! Especially of those lions...they're not usually out and about are they?! And great pic with the gorilla!

Your safari pictures are fantastic!:thumbsup2 Some day I will see those lions!!

I hope you had better luck with EE than we did. Ben and I are headed there first next time!!

Love your update! I love the attitude of the bus driver. I mean let's face it. Driving a bus even at Disney World wouldn't be too many people's choice of a job. But your bus driver showed how a difference can be made in whatever you do. I love that! Also love all of the animal pictures. I love watching gorillas! And that baby is a cutie:cutie:

Great pics of the Safari Sarah!! And what an awesome bus driver!!! Gabe would have been so excited to get a chance to sit in the driver's seat!!! HOW COOL!!! I LOVE the pic of the mama and baby gorilla! What a great moment to catch! I am looking forward to hearing about the Backstage Tour!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

The Ankole cattle was right by the truck! Look at those horns!

You got some nice pictures on the safari, but this one is my favorite. How cool that you got to see him so up-close. How early was rope drop? Some of the pics remind me of when they use to open at 7 or 8am in the early days.

This has to be the best part because the kids are hilarious trying to do all the moves they learn. The Jedi Master walks them through all the moves ("left shoulder, right shoulder, DUCK! Now the head!"). Some of the kids have trouble activating their light sabers and some of them are so tiny they can't reach Darth Vader's head so they'll jump up to try and reach him. One kid even lost his shoe. :rotfl: So cute. Definitely worth checking out.

Donovan got to do the Jedi Training Academy. He sat patiently and waited for over an hour to be chosen. He was in heaven! I am so glad they chose as many kids as they did. You are so right, they are trying sooo hard to do those moves and it's just adorable! They just take it all so seriously! It cracks me up!

What a fun bus driver you had! Sounds like you were meeting nice CMs everywhere you went on your trip :thumbsup2

Aww love the pics of the gorilla and her baby! So cute :cutie: The gorillas are one of my favorite animals. I could watch them all day!

We went right into the character area and I got in line to see Russell and Carl. I stood there for 15 minutes or so and hardly moved at all so I ended up getting out of line. Kind of a bummer since they're not there anymore so I guess I missed my chance. :guilty: But we did get to try another new thing...the Animation Academy! While we were waiting they show different characters being drawn which is fun for the kids to guess. Some of those kids must've been waiting a looong time because they would guess the right character when there was one little line drawn. haha Then we were let into the drawing room! The first thing I noticed was that the pencils didn't have erasers. Ummm...not good for a person like me who can kind of be a perfectionist. Our teacher told us there were no erasers because it was only a 20 minute class! This was going to be interesting...

So who did we end up drawing? Jiminy Cricket! I have to say I was kind of nervous even though I knew they'd walk through step by step. But in all honesty they make it so easy. Here's how mine turned out...not too bad if I do say so myself! You can atleast tell it's Jiminy Cricket, right?

I don't know if you can really tell, but you can make it "rain" by standing on the little black pad near the bottom of the pole. I think I got a few "OOOHs" from people walking by. LOL.

We found a place outside of Mickeys of Hollywood (I think? Whatever the main store is in DHS) to watch the parade. Just like Move it Shake it Celebrate it, it's really high-energy and interactive. It's also cool because it has some characters you don't normally get to see.

I wanted to meet the UP characters too and I made my kids stand in line the whole time. You can see it on their faces in the pics, LOL!

I wanted to find that umbrella but I never saw it. Oh well, another reason to go back! Plus I didn't know about the animation academy and when I read this, I told my DD and now she is mad that we didn't get to do it, so we HAVE to go back, right? Love your pic of Jiminy!!! Great job!

They always say that first thing in the morning is a great time to ride and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Our driver was really good and knew a lot about the different animals. We saw so many animals out and about! LOVE IT. [/I]

Wow! Your safari photos are awesome!!! I never even saw the baboons. We were lucky enough to see the Lions though. Really great update!

Love the gorillas! I could stand and watch them forever, my boys can often be heard uttering the words 'are you ready, Mom?' as they are trying to move me along..... ;)

You are off to a great start! WHat a fun bus driver! I would have definitely jumped in that seat to have my picture taken. We love the Safari first thing in the morning. The boys especially enjoy it. You got some great pics of the animals. How lucky of you to see the baby gorilla. I can't wait to hear more of it, especially about the tour.

I remember seeing in one of the Celebrations magazines someone had a picture in the driver's seat of a bus. Ahh I wish I would've done it but oh well. It was very exciting seeing the baby gorilla. He/she was so cute!

nice update!!!

The opening was out front for us too when we were there in March..so odd huh? I wonder if that is a new change for forever??

I also have that vintage T you were wearing! Mine is green though :) I love those shirts and they are at a great price! $14.95 or something??

It was kind of weird seeing the opening show there. Guess we'll have to see in August if it's still like that.

I LOVE that Mickey shirt! It's just such a simple design and you are right, it really was pretty inexpensive.

It's amazing how much we plan and plan and plan, yet some of the best moments can't be planned! (Re: the bus driver.)

Isn't that the truth! That was probably one of the best moments of the trip. So funny!

Glad you like the pictures!

I'll hopefully get to the EE update today!

I agree, he was so much fun. I wish I could remember his name. It's always great seeing CMs who enjoy their jobs.

Yeah, I wonder how many of the families stayed back to get the picture. What a cool memory.

Thanks! Park opening was either 8:00 or 9:00. I know it wasn't 7. LOL.

What a fun bus driver!

And your safari pictures are great! :goodvibes

Thanks!

It was a treat getting to see the gorilla. An unexpected treat at that!

Aww, cool that Donovan got to do it! I was talking to a kid at work the other day who was going to Disney World and was all excited about getting to do the Jedi Training. So cute!

We did meet some great CMs.

I was just so surprised at how many we saw. Normally we'll see one or two at most and they're usually kind of hiding. I guess it really does make a difference going right away in the morning.

I wanted to meet the UP characters too and I made my kids stand in line the whole time. You can see it on their faces in the pics, LOL!

You are right, there is ALWAYS more to do at WDW. I mean, look at all the trips we've taken and we still haven't done everything! That's part of what makes it so fun.

haha, funny about your daughter wanting to do the Animation Academy now. I bet she would enjoy it.

What fun! I'm really enjoying your report! :)

Thanks! Glad you are enjoying my TR. :)

Wow! Your safari photos are awesome!!! I never even saw the baboons. We were lucky enough to see the Lions though. Really great update!

Honestly I don't ever remember seeing the monkeys either so that was cool.

Love the gorillas! I could stand and watch them forever, my boys can often be heard uttering the words 'are you ready, Mom?' as they are trying to move me along..... ;)

haha, that's how my sister is only she just keeps walking along instead of saying something.

Aw......the baby gorilla! I'm jealous you got to see it!

haha, I'm sorry. :flower3: Maybe you'll get to see it in July!

Wow! You got some really great safari pics...especially of the gorillas! So cute!:thumbsup2

Thanks Angie!

Sarah I'm jealous of your safari pics! How cool you were able to see so many animals.... the lion and the baby gorilla! :thumbsup2
