DH and I are going as Mickey and Minnie on the 13th. Found a great Mickey outfit on ebay with the red shorts, black shirt, yellow shoes that slip over his sneaks and white gloves. And the ears are on a baseball cap which he wears anyway. I couldn't find an appropriate Minnie dress that wasn't a mini skirt so I found a woman on etsy who made me a great red polka dot dress with white pantaloons. Super cute and now I just need to buy my minnie ears! This is our first party and we are super excited!

We are going on October 11! This happens to be our 8 year anniversary! So we are going as ourselves 8 years ago. I said other because we did not want to wear a tux and a dress so we are just wearing shirts we are having made and Mickey wedding hats! I think it will be cool to be at the party on our anniversay!

We are going on Sept 13th.

I am going to go as a Roman Empress
Dh is going as Cesear
DD is going as Ariel (although she doesnt know it yet)- surprise trip, but I have asked her I don't know how many times now what she wants to be for Halloween and its always the same answer. (Thank goodness!!)

Hahaha, what I meant to say is I know Disney doesn't like people confusing their characters with guests DRESSED like their characters........just looking to avoid this!

Ah well as long as you don't play along I can't see it being a problem. I have seen photos of some *amazing* costumes at Disneyland parties. You just can't try to pass yourself off as the real thing. I know they don't want people posing for photos, but that can be hard to avoid since people will constantly be taking photos of others in their costumes.

I'll most likely have to wear a modified version of the shirt, but current plans are to go as Bermuda Merlin (or an approximation of).

I'm going to the Party on Sept 20th, by bf and I will be dressed up as Tacky Tourists :yay: I can't wait to see everyone's costumes! Gotta start putting it all together, and I think I'll make a sack dress out of some gaudy Hawaiian material

Expect enough candy to put you into a diabetic shock. :goodvibes

The modern vibe of Halloween in America is to be someone you're not for a little while. And just about ANYTHING can be a costume. In October, you won't have any problems finding a costume to buy or you can re-purpose clothes you already have. You will find costumes in just about every store (Wal-Mart, CVS, K-Mart, etc.) and even a lot of grocery stores.

For example:
Redneck - wife beater t-shirt (sleeveless T) and/or plaid shirt. Cigarettes in the pocket. Stained/frayed blue jeans. Beard stubble. Baseball cap preferably with beer logo. Cowboy boots.

Nerd - Pants pulled up to your armpits. Button down shirt buttoned all the way up. Glasses with masking tape wrapped around the middle. Snort a lot.

Farmer - Overalls. Safety pin stuffed animals all over. Straw hat.

White trash - large clear trash bag filled with styrofoam products.

Coming all the way from Australia, I'm not sure I'd want to invest a lot in a costume I'm only going to wear once. There are a lot of things you can do with clothes you already have that may only require one or two small "props".

Redneck? Farmer? White trash? What will these Aussies think of us?? :laughing:

The most popular ones (in my area of the U.S., at least!) are pirates, princesses/fairies, superheroes, and cute animals. Or for the classic spooky Halloween theme: witches, vampires, skeletons. None of those will be offensive and all of them are easy to make or buy.

The first part of this response I totally agree with. It should be very easy to come up with something out of your closet or just stop by any number of common stores.

Good luck!

We are going to MNSSHP on 10/13.

My DS and DD will be going as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan

DH, mom, dad, brother, brother's girlfriend, and I will be going as the Lost Boys!

Five adults in our group so we are of course going to respresent the Milwaukee Brewers (Woo hoo leading the NL central) by going as the Klements racing sausages! I'm guessing we will get lots of odd looks but for those in the know we should be a big hit.
DH=Bratwurst (Bret-wurst)#1
Myself=Polish sausage (Stosh)#2
Dsis=Italian sausage (Guido)#3
Friend=Hot Dog (Frankie Furter)#4
Friend=Chorizo (Cinco)#5

I think DS will be Ryan Braun (still trying to figure out how to make him Bernie)
and DD will be?????

So if you see a bunch of odd people with big black numbers on their chests on October 13 be sure to cheer on the Brewers!!:cheer2:

Is it bad that I've considered going as a "bride" and having my fiance go as a "groom" so that we can circumvent the whole "no wedding wear in the park" rule to get wedding photos in the park :happytv:

I'm kidding... mostly :rolleyes1

My son and I are planning for 9/27 also...Ill give a hello if I see the Flinstones!

Our family will be there 9/27 also!

Because there will actually be 7 of us this time, we are planning to be The Seven Dwarfs!!!

This is a surprise trip and even after they know MNSSHP will still be a surprise so I am packing DS8 a green lantern costume for the party. DS2 I am still undecided as he HATES wearing any costume, so I thinking I may just do his buzz lightyear pajamas (but they are long sleeves) we are going at the end of September. I am size 20 and I know there are some really nice Disney themed plus size costumes but in an effort to save money I just bought a simple summer red dress and I am going to double stick tape white felt circles all over it..and buy some cute minnie ears! I ordered my husband the Tee from Disneystore.com that looks like you are a pirate (it's printed on the tee), so he'll probably wear a bandana, make-up, ect.. Can't wait!!

We're planning to attend on September the 30th. We wanted a theme that everyone in the family (there are seven of us) could be part of, so we settled on pirates.

That means that Dad, Mom, DD15, DS13, DS4, DS2 (it's his birthday on this day!) will all be pirates. DS4months would not be a fearsome pirate... so he will be dressed as our parrot! :goodvibes

I'm now going at the Cheshire Cat!!! I'm sort of making my costume from scratch, it's gonna be fun!

My family and I are going on Sept 27th! We are so excited!!!! My DD 11 is dressing as Belle in her blue dress, my DS 1 is going as Nemo and my DH and I are going as jellyfish! Hop everyone has a fabulous time!!!! :) :yay:
