So what causes a miserable trip anyway?

she was put in a room with a broken A/C, at that point management should have checked the registry, and found a room that they could give her, most likely a 2 bedroom would do, but no, they had to wait for the a/c to be fixed.

I don't agree with being moved to a 2 bedroom because a studio AC is broken.

Definitely find another studio, or better yet have somebody get their patootie up there and fix the AC right away.

People's perspective and attitude are what causes a bad trip.

My Mom is not in very good health and has multi infarct dementia. On most of our trips, there are some very trying and difficult moments. For example, once we were in MK, and she got mad at me about something and took her hat off and threw it on the ground.....twice. There have been times when she tries to stop the wheelchair and leave because she's mad. However, these moments are not what stands out in my mind about each trip. There are many positive, special moments also. I remember the good things, and the smiles on her face.

We were at BWV March 4-10 for my Birthday. We arrived Tuesday, March 4th. That night, we had to call the ambulance and take my Mom to Celebration Hospital. She was admitted with heart failure, renal failure, and high potassium. March 5th, was my birthday. I wasn't even sure she was going to survive. She pulled through and was released on Saturday from the hospital. We had part of the day Saturday, Sunday, and left for home Monday. We went to the parks, and my Mom really enjoyed herself. I saw her laugh and smile. I knew no matter what happened, that trip was worth it. In EPCOT, another guest tapped me on the shoulder and stated that seeing her smile and me assisting her was the best thing he saw all day. That was the day she was released from the hospital.

Life is really what you make it. I came back after the March trip, and even though she was in the hospital, with something very serious, I can't say it was a bad trip, because the little time we had, we enjoyed. I have definitely learned to appreciate the special and good moments, and forget the no so great moments. Nothing is ever perfect. Many people get too concerned and upset over things that in the big scheme just really aren't that big of a deal. BTW, during the March trip, I had light bulbs burned out in my room, and there was a leak in the ceiling above the shower!

I have to say that the entire staff at BWV was wonderful to both my Mother and I during our trip. They did everything possible to make things as easy as they could for me.

You're right, The whole world is rude.

There is a difference between constructive criticism and plain bashing. Some people enjoy tearing down something because it gives them a feeling of superiority. Ie: some people enjoy reading tabloids because they see celebrities in compromising positions and it gives them satisfaction. Others stay at the Plaza in NYC and pick it apart, "not up to my standards". It makes them feel superior and gets them all sorts of attention. After all, if I can complain about such an institution, I must be pretty special. It's one of the top hotels in the world but just not good enough for me.

What a pleasure it would be to get a job at BCV and get four phone calls in one hour asking for detergent.

I think this is hysterical...similar to the pot calling the kettle black here. You have enjoyed bashing Erika and her situation (trying to minimize it) throughout this entire thread, so what does that say about you?

There's two sides to every story. Don't believe everything you read. That's all.

If that's truly the message you meant to get across then that's great. I agree completely. But you didn't do that here...you tried to make her sound stupid and minimize her situation.

Sorry you misunderstood, Niks. Sometimes it's hard to convey one's thoughts on here. I'm going to keep further comments to myself. No need to reply. Thanks.

Funny, it didn't appear that way to me.
I guess it's all in your point of view...

My point exactly. We can all read posts on Forums and no one takes them the same way.

Same goes with a conversation between a staff member and a guest. One person can take that conversation as rude and condenscending, someone else can take it exactly the opposite way.

I think we can all agree that the OP had a bad day. As to whether that was the fault of just bad luck, 2 small kids, a move from a hotel where they were having a great time to a much smaller room with a broken AC or bad management at the Beach Club, we don't know for sure.

I do think there is some things to be learned from this for future guests to the BC Villas renting points and even the OP knew this. You can't demand to be upgraded due to a problem.

Another is if the resort is full, another room might not be available to move into and you will have to just wait for the AC to be fixed. As long as my AC works by bedtime I would think that is reasonable.

I think if anyone cancels a trip to this resort based completely on this particular situation, you will not be pleased with any resort you choose.

Things happen, some trips go off without a hitch others don't. It's just the way things are.

Apparently, there is no interest in discussing the topic of this thread any longer, so it will be closed.
