So, what are some of the easier character meals to get into?

We'll have family of 5 and would like to do a character meal, not fussy about what meal or who we see. The craziness about Cinderella's scares me!! ;-)

So, any good recommendations? I like the sound of the Pooh dinner at 1900, anyone do that?

THANKS!!

Michelle

PS We'll be going in early November or early December of this year.

Had no trouble getting a PS for Farmer Mickey at Garden Grill. And made a 9:30 PS for Goofy's Beach Party at Cape May at 8:00 that same morning!!

CRT is the only one that is REALLY hard to get into. Probably followed by the new Princess StoryBook breakfast in Epcot. However the rest are not hard to get into at all and especially for the times you are going - early Nov. or early Dec.

We are also going early Nov. and I just called a few days ago about Tony's for lunch with Pooh and friends and had no problem getting a ps for 11:30. Last year on our trip I didn't make ps's until two weeks before our trip and still did not have a problem getting a character breakfast at Ohana's with Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

Have fun!

We had no trouble at all getting into Donald's Breakfastasaurus in the AK. The food was great and the characters really made the rounds.

I just called two days ago and was able to reserve Breakfast at Tony's MK (10:15 on 10/20), and Lunch Hollywood & Vine MGM (NOON on 10/21). I have been trying for Cindy's with no success.
My kids are 3 and 4 and would Loooovveee a princess meal, but know they'll be happy meeting Mickey, Pooh and the others.

I didn't have any problems. making reservations at these two places.

(Also bought tickets for MNSSHP on 10/20 - no prob).

I do not know if this an exception or the norm, but when we were there in May, we made no PS ahead of time. Well we were coming down to the last few days of the trip and decided to do a character breakfast. The evening before around 8:30 I walked over to guest services at the CSR and a very nice CM tried every single character breakfast, and they all showed full. The only thing I could get were 2 tables of 2 at Breakfastasuraus (Yuck) at 11:10. I was very disappointed.

We went to Magic Kingdom the next day and just for grins we stopped in at Crystal Palace. As it turned out we were eating with Eeyore in about 9 minutes.

I am not sure if somone was a no show, or that they set aside a some spots for walk-ins. But just because there are no PS available does not mean that you can't get in. Of course CRT is would likely be the exception to this rule.

We had no problem getting into Hollywood and Vine for an early lunch last May. About 10 am we went to the PS dining kiosk on the corner of Sunset and Hollywood, and asked where we could get PS for an early lunch... got H/V at 11:30 with no problem.

If you aren't sure right now, you could always check out what is available once you get to the parks, or call during the day, and see what might be available at the resorts, as well!

We had trouble getting into Chef Mickey's when I went to make my PS about three weeks before we left. We got a table for the breakfast at the Poly instead with no trouble.

I've done the Breakfastasaurus twice in a month. the first time I called for PS about a month in advance. The last time I made my PS from MK the night before. The food was good and hot both times. The service the first time was great, the second time was extinct. The characters were great and spent time with each table and never seemed rushed away. GREAT FUN!

Hollywood & Vine & The garden grille were always no problem for us!! We walked right in and got seated within 10 minutes!

We just walked in for lunch one day, and were seated immediately!

The restaurant was practically empty, so DH & I had lots of attention from Farmer Mickey & friends.

Had not planned on eating there, but were glad we did. It was a pleasant surprise.

We went to Garden Grill with no PS and got seated right away. DD was 2 at the time and got soooo much attention from Mickey and Chip and Dale. They sat down in our booth and colored with her for a while. They spent so much time with us that she hardly ate a thing. Food is pretty good too.

If there are any young girls involved, definitely check out 1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian. Great food, cool place to check out (too stuffy and too $ for me, but very nice!). If you are there at christmas time you'll love the decorations.

I'm with BoyLovesBuzz,

DS and I walked right up to CRT our last day. I inquired on the the possiblity of a table and the hostess looked at me like I was crazy when I said I did not have PS. She said we could wait if we wanted. We stood for apprx two minutes, she said come with me and we were seated IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!

We were lucky, could have been since there were just two of us! BTW, this was the week of Easter, so don't give up hope!
