So we're planning an Aulani trip now for the silliest of reasons...

On our spring break trip, my wife got addicted to the WDW exclusive Pandora charms, I think we bought about 10 of them! Then my wife heard that Aulani has an exclusive charm, so now I've started planning our trip! I knew Pandora charms could be expensive, but this is getting ridiculous! :rotfl: Yeah I know I could probably get the charm another way, but we've been wanting to go for a while now and this just pushed our trip forward a bit. :goodvibes

So anyway, we can only go on trips during spring break or the July/August summer months. Any suggestions on which would be better?

we went over spring break because i asked a friend who was born and raised in hawaii when is the best time to go, and she said between december and april; the summer is too humid.

on our flight back, my seat companion, also hawaiian, confirmed the same thing.

here's a similar thread covering the gamut.

That's one expensive charm, but what good's the charm without the memory behind it? At any rate, it's a great excuse. LOL.

It is humid in the summer but not oppressively humid like Florida. We have been in almost every month and there are pros and cons to every time of the year. Right now, because of our kids being older teens, school is priority so that leaves us in the same situation as you - spring break or July/August. We can stay longer in the summer and I personally find Hawaii to be amazing in the summer. I think if you are inland, away from the ocean or without air conditioning it can get uncomfortable but there were few, if any, times that happened. I love the flora and fauna in Hawaii and the summer is a lovely time for that. Price wise, I would say it might be cheaper to go over spring break but that would obviously depend on where you are located and other factors. I want to know if you can offer any insight into how I convince my husband that collecting Pandora charms is a rational reason to travel to places to get them LOL! Have fun planning...Oh and I was just reading over on the DVC boards that you can buy the Aulani Pandora Charms at both Kalepas store which has all types of general merchandise and also the clothing boutique store called Hale Manu which is on the other side of the hall and down a bit from Kalepas. Hale Manu has a better selection according to the poster on that thread..https://resorts.disney.go.com/aulani-hawaii-resort/activities/hale-manu-store/

We now always go in the summer (we stay at the Marriott next to Aulani). Matter of fact, I just booked four weeks for mid June to mid July 2017 (we own two weeks EOY but can split it up into the studio and the one bedroom so this is my first time doing that).

The time change from the East Coast makes a short trip more difficult, so for spring break my kids would have to adjust too quickly (plus we always go now for at least 2 weeks, used to do like 10 days but prefer longer now). Coming home we need a few days to adjust!

My neighbors went over spring break for 10 days (think she took the kids out a day early), and she said it was so hard coming home!

The climate doesn't change too much like it does in Florida.
