A 21 lb one and a 13 lb one. My mom is crazy and didn't think a 21 lb bird would be enough! My question is, where the heck are we going to cook a 2nd bird, we only have 1 oven!
The 13 pound one will also fit nicely on the grill if you have one.
We actually had to do this last year. We have 3 turkeys at Thanksgiving, ILs cook one, we cook one, and one gets fried. ILs lost power, so the 24 pound bird came to our house, and went in our oven. Our little 15 pounder went out on the grill.
Piece o' cake! Kept in in the aluminum roasting pan, and kept the grill lid down.
My SIL always cooks her turkey the day before, then slices it and warms it in the oven covered with foil. It's always moist and tasty. Maybe she puts some broth on it when she warms it?
Or, if you really only need one bird, then freeze the smaller bird (prior to cooking). You can only do this if the turkey hasn't previously been frozen.
