We were able to book the grand family cabana for our upcoming cruise. I was super stoked since we are first time cruisers but we got to book at 120 days as part of the wedding package.

We don't know if we will keep it though since our wedding party is 17 people and the cabana only holds 16.

If we found another cruiser that had a cabana with space in it could we put the other person on that cabana. I mean could we book that one person on their cabana, pay for them, but all hang out at our cabana?

I don't see why not. You need the band to get in the area, but once you're back there, no one is regulating who goes where.

I've never booked the family, but can't you pay $50 or something for each guest over 16 but under 20? I think the regular cabana holds 6, but you can purchase up to 4 extra bands? someone correct me if I'm wrong here please!

I believe the base price for #21 is for up to 10 people and you can add up to 6 additional at $50 each (16 max).

The other cabanas, yes, the base price is for 6 and you can add up to 4 additional for a max of 10.

I wouldn't cancel until last minute. You might have a cancellation yourself and be down to 16.

Or. You might find that one of your guests would prefer to skip the beach. Beaches aren't for everyone.

Airlines overbook because the law of averages says in a larger crowd, somebody will be a no show. Might happen in your group too. Life happens.

I would try other options like you're doing, but I'd also play it close to the end.

Congratulations! I'd just go to one of the cruise meet groups on social media and explain the situation. Many concierge guests usually hang out there and I can't imagine one of them wouldn't be delighted to do you this small favor.

Seriously, the concierge team, who also service the cabanas, are exceptionally nice and smart people who try very hard to make you happy. If you explain your special circumstances to them, I am sure they'll laugh and find a solution.

I don't plan on canceling until the last minute hoping that we can get something figured out. I doubt anyone will be canceling unless something comes up. Everyone is already PIF and excited for the wedding so I'm hoping nothing comes up lol.

Yea I figured I would try the social media groups and see if anyone would be willing to add one onto their cabana. I figured thats them making $50 if they aren't full already they wouldn't have to pay any extra. I will probably email our DCL wedding coordinator and see if she can't pull a couple strings and get us the 17th person added as well. Hopefully it all works out.

Don't forget that there's always a chance that a few people in your party would want to do CC excursions (like fishing?) and may not care about using the cabana. You should check with them.

So we got the family cabana but...

... Hot Dang It's Expensive
... we got dirty looks from everyone that didn't get a cabana
... It rained all day
... It was too hot
... Everyone's Tired and hung over from the night before and decided to stay on the ship
... The neighbors were obnoxious and ruined our time there
... It was absolutely perfect!
