after much back and forth - AKL and Poly!

For those who have done this, how should I split? This will be our longest trip ever. Thinking of 6 nights at AK and 3 nights at Poly. We will have a rental car so when we're at AKL, we plan on doing BB, AK, DS,and enjoying the hotel. When we're at the Poly, we'll primarily do MK and enjoy the hotel. Poly is our FAVE resort (have not yet been to AKL). I'm sure we'll love it there too. Is it enough time at the Poly to keep it as is? Or, should I do 5ights/4nights? I also don't want to do too little time at AKL since it will be our first time there as well! Can you tell I'm confused? Please help! :worship:

We are splitting our stay at AKV in Nov. I am only doing 2 nights there just to enjoy the resort. Then we will be at SSR. I like to spend the most time at the resort I know I love and have stayed at already. If it were me I would do the 3 or 4 nights at AKL and the rest at the Poly.

I would probably switch it around and do more days at the Polynesian but that's my personal preference. We stayed at both on our last trip and I definitely enjoyed AKL but I think a couple of days there is good enough for me.

Personal preference here, but I would do about 3 nights at AKL and then move over to the Poly for the rest of the trip. To me that's a long enough time to really take in and enjoy the resort. But overall, location is important to us, and I would want to stay in a great location for the majority of the stay.

We did this split...AKL and Poly in May of this year...we did 3 nights at AKL standard, club level...with a beautiful savanna view...we did the Sunrise Safari with breakfast at Tusker House...then an easy move over to the Poly for the next 8 nights...club level, garden view...For us the 3 nights at the AKL was just the right amount of time.

Are you staying at AKV or AKL I see you are a new owner at DVC, will this be your first trip home? :confused3

OK, I would schedule the stay at the Polynesian to cover your week-end rather it's before or after your stay at the Villas. This will save you those higher points.

Have a Great First Trip Home.

Thanks we were/are planning on doing the wknd. nights at Poly. I'm still wondering if three nights will be enough at the Poly. Will we be happy w/ 6 nights at AKV and only 3 at Poly? Having never been to AKV, I am of course unsure. Once Kidani opens, it will be different. Sounds like some people on this thread think the better option is to take off some days at AKV???

I agree after Kidani opens it will be a completely different experience. I guess it comes down to rather you want to save cash or points. :confused3 5/4 would be a good split.

I agree w/5/4 split...nice time for a break, wont feel like you've just unpacked/packed again...what an awesome decision to be faced with huh? Have a great time!

We are doing our first split stay too, 3 nights at the Yacht Club (closer to Epcot for F&W) and 3 nights at the Poly! I am sooo excited
