Little Natsumi hadn't been feeling well for a while and we had her at the vet's back around New Years. Dh brought her back to the vet Monday morning and they did various tests but couldn't find one major thing wrong so they had him bring her to the local Animal Hospital. She was in icu and had numerous other tests done - again, no major things but lots of "smaller" issues. Dh & I went up and saw her last night and she was hooked up to an iv and really out of it - poor baby.
They called us just after 12:30 this morning to tell us she had passed...we are devastated as we never expected this outcome. She was only going to be 2 next month. We have had many cats and our last two lived until they were 18 and 20 so losing one so young seemed unthinkable. Her brother and litter mate is hanging around up here a lot today and we wonder if he knows she is missing. We also have two other cats and they probably figure out something is going on.
Our "little one" was tiny but she was the boss of the other three so we thought that scrapiness would save her. Unfortunately she had too many strikes against her.
We didn't tell the kids this morning so we could get them off to school ok but they will be devastated.
Dh is going to get her after work and we will bury her in the (snowy) yard.
We have gone through this before so I know the pain will lessen, but today I am just so sad.... I know there are many of you on here who know what I am going through and understand.
