I have spent over 2.5 hours on the phone today between the DLP Suite reservation line and my bank.

I have reservations for a TB Suite for our 15th anniversary and when trying to pay for it my bank refuses payment from DLP even though they keep telling me (my bank) it will go through.

Though I have to wait for 20 or 30 minutes to get a reservation specialist she is so nice and helpful. I am just so frustrated that I have had to call the bank in the states 4 times and each time they assure me it will work. Then it doesn't. :headache:

I am beginning to think this is a sign since the last 2 times we have stayed at a DLP hotel they weren't the best experinces. I love Disneyland Paris itself but just don't seem to have very good luck with the hotels.:sad1:

Anyways sorry I just had to vent because I have read before other people have had probelms with a credit card going through and was hoping someone can tell what the outcome was. At this point I would drive to the office and hand them cash just to make sure it is paid and we don't loose our suite.

Thanks for listening

Does you bank have a record of the attempted transactions?

Can you ask the booking department at Disneyland Paris to get in contact with their Merchant Card Processor?

yes my bank does and each time they say they clear it out and reset it and I have the highest status one can have on the card and it should work but it still doesn't.:confused3

I don't understand why the bank tells me it's good on the phone but then it doesn't go trhough when DLP tries to change it.

Then the bank was like do you have a second phone line to call DLP on? No I can only call the US or France at one time wiht 1 phone. I don't know what good it would do if they tell DLP it should go through on the phone as it has to go through the computer system. I have used american Visa/MC before when traveling to DLP and had no problem. I just don't know why the bank can't get it together. No way to run a bank if you ask me...

I was told that you have to pay for the Castle Club Suite with a credit card which is now becoming frustrating when it won't work.

I just don't know if it is worth it- this hassle. Hubby really has his heart set on staying in the suite for our anniversary though....

The reservation specialist is going to try to run it through again over the next few days that she is working and then call me to let me know if it goes through. I guess asking about the Merchant Card Processor certainly couldn't hurt but I don't have time to make phone calls now as all the kids are home from school.

I'm sure you will get it sorted.

I don't know if you have a joint card with someone else on the same account? perhaps try their card, banks work in mysterious ways at times!

One more idea is try ringing the UK suite booking department +44 8702 426 079

If its a non Euro credit card anyway, it won't matter if you pay in Sterling, but there is a chance the credit card processing system will be different.

However its a bank holiday today here, so they might not be open, then again they may be in France not the UK.

We had a very similar problem with a booking last year although we were trying to pay for Santa Fe not Disneyland hotel so I imagine the amount was very different.
It took 4 attempts over 2 days and the bank kept saying it was going out but DLP wouldnt accept it for some reason.
I cant remember exactly what the problem was but it was something to do with the way DLP were trying to take the money - they were trying to claim it as credit card but it was a debit card or something like that. Although the money didnt go out each time it was frozen in my account so was unable to be used.

In the end DLP admitted it was their fault and we were given VIP FPs and a free night at Buffalo Bills

I always ask for a normal bill and the suite department sends it bij normal mail. No hassle no problem.
If there is a problem call the normal German number and ask for Gijs. He can see the status of your bill and also can send your bill bij normal mail.
So not the number of the suites but the normal German number for booking.
Be sure you have your bookingsnumber at hand.

We had a similar problem when we tried to book a room at Sequoia Lodge. I tried to book the room with my credit card and since the amount was over £500, they thought it was fraud and blocked my card. Had to call my bank and explain, they unblocked my card and I had to again call DLRP to finally make the booking. Weird, but maybe that is the problem, larger amount of money and the bank being cautious... I know it's frustrating but they still have to be careful...

Hope it works out for you. :goodvibes

Yeah the same thing happened to me with my bank card and paying online because it wasnt an amount i would normally tend to spend, the fraud team ring right away they said they were very cautious when dealing with the dlp for some reason.

Hope you are able to sort it out

I also had a problem with the credit card company "blocking" my transaction when I booked online. They rang me and said there had been some unusual activity with my account but then they ok'd it and next time tried there was no problem. I just thought this was routine and didn't really question it but perhaps they have had problems with DLP.

One of the last times I had used my card before our credit card fraud experience was at DLRP. :confused3

To the OP really hope you can sort this problem out ~ best of luck. :goodvibes

We had exactly the same problem last year when paying our deposit. It was all sorted out in the end, it was basically Disney's fault, not my bank. I can only suggest you wait a few days for all the systems to update and then try again! Just to warn you though, we had our payment taken twice off of two seperate cards as Disney insisted I gave them a nother card to take paymeny or our booking wouldn't be val;id,even though it was as the payment had gone through, but not updated on their system!!!! REally confusiong but I hope this made sense!!!!

Thanks for all the replies- I knew I read before that others had a problem like this.

The payment finally went through after 2 days of calling my credit card company in the states and the second day, 6th time having Disney run the card through it finally took. It was not Disney's fault but my bank's that was rejecting the charge even though every time I talked to them they said it would go through.

Glad that's finally done- I even decided to add the Half board premium onto our package and booked our restaurants but that is another story;)

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond:flower3:

Excellent that this is fixed :)
