So unhappy - really need some support

I
If I was in your situation then I would sooner move house than part with my dog...to some this may seem a bit OTT but I couldn't get rid of him.

I adore my dog and I would also move rather than get rid of him! :lovestruc

I really don't know what else to say apart from what has already been said.I just think the situation stinks on what you are sort of being made to do.I hope something can get sorted out+it does'nt have to come to this.I have 3 cats+they are also my babies(although i have children) they have been with me for 15+14 years,i can't imagine what you are going thru right now,it would break my heart i know that.x.

 What a horrible situation for you to be in.

I really think you should look into the dog training that has been suggested before you look at rehoming them. Or is there anyone who could dog mind them whilst you are at work, perhaps they could go to someone elses house for the day or you could make an arrangment with a local kennel. I am sure they could work out a special price for you if it is a regular arrangement.

Hope things work out for you, sending some :wizard: :wizard: your way.

I feel so sorry for you i know what its like to have horrible neighbours. I wish my neighbours would rehome their kids!!!!!! Sorry if this sounds terrible but they are 2 spoilt bratts (like their mother) who haven't been taught any disipline. I have heard they may be moving though so fingers crossed.
I am a cat lover and i know if i had to give them up it would destroy me.
Just a suggestion couldn't you set up a video camera or tape recording of some sort while you were out to see if these people are lying about the barking. Hope every thing works out for you

HI

Thnak you to everyone for being so lovely. We have taped them and they only bark for about 5 mins after we leave then they are quiet. HOwever the neighbours are friends of the landlord so there is no winning this. The other neighbours say they are quiet,a s does the lady who comes over at lunchtime for them.

The only way we can do this is to know that we are rehoming them to someone who is home all day to give them the attention they deserve. When we got them as puppies I was at home running our business and never thought I'd gp out to work full time. However, times change and I am, and DH is working daft hours too.

I know it's for the best. The lady has said she'd love to have them but is waiting until she has an op in a few weeks time. We are telling the estate agent & landlord today and hope that the neighbours are going to be nice about all this. It's just too stressy here at the moment with them like they are.

Thank you again :)

HI

We have thought about this, but would need a reference from the exisintg landlord to get a new place. He will say about the dogs barking and why we are moving and we wouldn't get another place. We have thought about the alternatives, and rehoming seems to be the kindest for them.

As the owner of two lady dogs, I really, really feel for you. It's a heartbreaking situation. You're being incredibly strong and brave - your attitude is brilliant and well done for putting the dogs first...   I hope it works out OK and maybe you'll be able to have them back in the future... :flower3:

I have 4 dogs - Mum, Dad and their 2 sons - we re-homed the other 5 with excellent owners - and I completely understand, although I have never had to go through what you are going through, re-homing the pups was enough for me.
They are your family, some people really dont understand that, especially if they arent animal lovers. I whereas I, and Im sure you fully apprciate that there are 2 sides to every story its breaks your heart, its breaking mine now thinking about it.
But remember you can always go and see them (little consolation I know) and that these neighbours will have to live with themselves.
You may now have time to find a better property whilst the dogs are being cared for, and then be re-united.
Its a thought - I sympasthise and my thoughts are with you.

You can re train, bla,bla but it sounds like you have made up your mind so well done for doing the hardest thing you will have to do for a long time. I know they only bark for 5 mins but for some one who does nights or has a baby say that can be a long time. And some nieghbours will tell you what you want to hear re your dogs, if they are barking they must be unhappy. Sounds like they will be really happy where they are going. Take care and try not beat yourself up. And I hate when people say "get rid off" it is a horrible thing to say.
Be brave for them when the time comes:hug:

Sending you :grouphug: I think you've been very brave to come to this decision, a friend of mine was faced with a very similar situation and rehomed her dog with a good friend. Although it really hurt her at the time, she knew it was for the best and now can go visit her dog without feeling upset as she can see he is very happy at his new home.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took time to write here. I have come to terms with the fact that they are going, but the next few weeks (until the new person can have them) are going to be odd.

Thanks again.
